Will you miss me when I'm gone?

"Mommy mommy!" Aurora says jumping on mine and Preston's bed.

"Wake up daddy." I say rolling over.

"Daddy! Daddy!"   .

"What Honey" he says to her.

"Ryker woke me up." She answers

"Why?"

"He kept on coughing and crying."

I quickly rip off my blankets and run to Ryker's room. He's laying down in his bed crying and coughing his brains out.

"Honey what's wrong." I ask concerned.

He points to his throat and starts to turn red.

"PRESTON!" I yell.

""WHATS WRONG" he says running into the room.

"He's choking!! We have to get him to the hospital!"

Preston grabs Ryker and runs him out to the car with Aurora and I following behind.

Preston gives me Ryker and I get in the passenger seat. Aurora gets put in the back and Preston speeds to the emergency room.

We get there and the nurses take him off. I start to cry.

"Babe he's going to be okay." Preston sighs and hugs me.

"What if he's not." I cry into his chest.

"He's going to be."

Preston starts to tear up.

"I'm going to ask you guys to step outside. You're causing too much stress to the people in the waiting room." A nurse says to us.

"But our baby! He's in there!" I say.

"I assure you that your child is alright. Just please step outside and try to calm down."

Preston grabs my hand and we walk to the outside of the hospital.

I hug Preston. He sighs and backs up.

"No" I say. "Please just stay here."

I grab him and pull him closer. He kisses me on the head and rocks me back and forth.

"What? What could he have possibly have choked on?" I ask.

"I dunno baby." He sighs.

We stay silent like this for a few minutes but then go back into the hospital.

"How is he?" I ask impatiently.

"He's okay. You can see him now if you would like." A nurse says.

I nod and Preston and I walk to the bay.

"Hey Ryker." I give him a shy smile.

"I'm sorry mommy." He says.

"You're okay. That's all that matter."

I smile and move some hair out of his face.

"What did he choke on?" I ask the doctor.

"A penny" he says

"How did you get a penny Ryker?"

"I stole it from daddy's wallet yesterday." He says with his head down. "I thought it was candy."

"It's not candy."

"I know. I'm sorry mommy and daddy."

"Even I knew penny's weren't candy." Aurora sasses.

"I'm sorry miss perfect" Ryker snaps.

"You guys are free to go home. All I need you to do is sign this paper." the doctor says handing me a clipboard. "Sign where it says parent please."

I sign and pick up a very sleepy Ryker.

"What time is it Preston?" I ask.

"2:30 am" he answers.

"Are you kidding me?"

"Nope."

Ryker falls asleep in my arms.

"Daddy pick me up." Aurora yawns.

"Alright sweetie." He says picking her up. "Are you tired?"

"No daddy it's only very early in the morning and I want extra air in my body."

"What have we taught our children?" I laugh.

"How to be awesome." He answers.

I laugh and walk to the car. We put the kids in the car and Preston walks over to me.

"I think it just hit me that were actually parents." He smiles. "I know we're going to have ups and downs in this crazy life of ours but I'm glad I'm spending it with you."

"Preston..." I smile. "You're tired you need sleep."

I start to walk to my side of the car but he grabs my hand and pulls me back.

"I'm serious Mara. I may be tired as hell but I do know my feelings. I want to call you my wife like now. I love you so much."

"I love you too." I smile.

He smiles back and he kisses me.

He breaks the kiss and puts his forehead on mine.

"Let's go home"
