After that day with the Inferi, Y/n and Angel had begun to date, much to the dismay of their new friends, who now feared they must deal with them acting all 'coupley' in front of them... which, Y/n supposed, they sort of were- or rather, Angel was, constantly touching her in some way or another, whilst Y/n, barring the occasional kiss, barely changed in demeanour at all.
As Y/n sat with her new friends at the Hufflepuff table (as they found it to be the most 'neutral ground'), she allowed Angel to wrap an arm around her, as she covered her plate with pieces of toast, absently humming along as Angel started talking about Valentine's plans.
"I wasn't thinking we do much, but it's our first-"
He was cut off by Estella suddenly slamming the Daily Prophet down on the table with a loud thud, sending jolts down the table, making Y/n's pumpkin juice spill over, making her gasp.
"Have you lot seen this?" She uttered urgently, pointing to the front page.
Plastered upon the whole of the front page were ten black-and-white photographs, nine showing wizards' faces and the tenth, a witch. Some of the people in the photographs were silently jeering; others were tapping their fingers on the frame of their pictures, looking insolent. Each picture was captioned with a name and the crime for which the person had been sent to Azkaban.
Y/n had recognised many of them from older newspapers, knowing much of their crimes, making an uncomfortable, twisting sensation fill her stomach, as she slowly reached for Angel's hand, squeezing it tightly.
Antonin Dolohov, read the legend beneath a wizard with a long, pale, twisted face, convicted of the brutal murders ofGideon and Fabian Prewett.
Augustus Rookwood, said the caption beneath a pockmarked man with greasy hair who was leaning against the edge of his picture, looking bored, convicted of leaking Ministry of Magic Secrets to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
Rodolphus Lestrange, convicted of the torture and permanent incapacitation of Frank and Alice Longbottom.
Rabastan Lestrange, convicted of the torture and permanent incapacitation of Frank and Alice Longbottom.
Two of the first names and convictions had been smudged by the yolk of Estella's egg, but the last names 'Travis and Mulciber' could still be read.
And, towards the centre of the page, lay a familiar visage of a woman with long, unkempt hair, glaring up at them through the page: Bellatrix Lestrange, convicted of the torture and permanent incapacitation of Frank and Alice Longbottom.
Y/n read further.
