Y/n had struggled to focus for the remainder of her exam... she felt like she was looking towards the doors every few minutes, as though hoping someone would burst through at any moment to give news of what exactly had happened to Harry. But, all too naturally, they didn't. Why would they? It wasn't anyone's business what happened to Harry... except it was hers, she'd like to think... after all, he was her boyfriend- could she call him that yet? They'd never explicitly used those words yet, and they'd only been 'dating' (if you could even call it that when they'd not gone on a single date) for a week and a half- she supposed he could tell her himself when the exams finished... but she had this sinking, horrible feeling, that in a very Harry manner, whatever had happened would lead him to doing something so horrendously stupid, so horrendously... Harry, that it would put him, and very likely herself and the rest of their friends, in mortal peril.
As the exam came to an end, Y/n forced herself to finish her last few questions before she got up and left the examination room as fast as she could, quickly joined by Ron and Hermione, both of whom seemed equally as anxious as herself.
They found Harry at the top of the marble staircase and hurried towards him.
"Harry!" said Hermione at once, looking very frightened, as Y/n immediately wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "What happened? Are you all right? Are you ill?"
"Where have you been?" demanded Ron.
"Come with me," Harry said quickly, once Y/n had pulled away. "Come on, I've got to tell you something..."
He led them along the first-floor corridor, peering through doorways, and at last found an empty classroom into which he dived, closing the door behind Y/n, Ron and Hermione the moment they were inside and leaning against it, facing them.
"Voldemort's got Sirius."
"What?"
"How d'you — ?"
"Saw it. Just now. When I fell asleep in the exam."
"But — but where? How?" said Hermione, whose face was white.
"I dunno how," said Harry. "But I know exactly where. There's a room in the Department of Mysteries full of shelves covered in these little glass balls, and they're at the end of row ninety-seven . . . He's trying to use Sirius to get whatever it is he wants from in there... He's torturing him... Says he'll end by killing him . . ."
Harry's voice was shaking, as were his knees. He moved over to a desk and sat down on it, trying to master himself. Y/n slowly moved to sit beside him, gently placing a hand on his back comfortingly.
"How're we going to get there?" he asked them.
There was a moment's silence; Y/n froze, her eyes widening.
Then Ron said, "G-get there?"
"Get to the Department of Mysteries, so we can rescue Sirius!" Harry said loudly, making Y/n flinch.
