Y/n didn't know how to tell Maddy what had happened last night. She didn't know how to tell anyone what happened really. How could she possibly explain what she'd seen without it being dismissed as nothing more than a dream? She knew it wasn't a dream, how can one possibly dream while they're still awake?
Last night, in the corner of her bedroom, in the very midst of darkness, she'd seen her.
She'd seen Zetta.
Not a corpse, nor a ghost, nor some form of reanimation, it was her. Standing there in the flesh. Y/n would have yelled for Maddy, or Cedric, or a trusted adult, but she'd blinked and Zetta was gone.
Now, even as Maddy, Y/n and Cedric (who'd be using Floo powder to get to school so he could accompany Maddy to the train) made their way to Kings Cross, Y/n found she was seeing Zetta everywhere.
In the trees they'd passed, in the window of the café they'd stopped for breakfast at, in the stones on the pavement they walked down, Zetta was there. Haunting her. Y/n wondered, as they'd made their way through the station, why she'd not had this happen with Orchid and Elmira's deaths. She supposed, it'd have been awfully difficult to hallucinate two people at once. But, at the same time, Elmira was her twin sister, really, she should have been far closer with her then she ever was with Zetta, so why only now does she have these hallucinations?
As they reached platform 9¾ Y/n found herself more frazzled than she'd like to be when she was about to go to school, to be fair though, the level of frazzled she'd like to be at is a zero... maybe a two.
"Seeya Moo." Y/n spoke quietly, before climbing onto the train, Maddy wasn't going to go onto the train until the very last minute so she'd be able to spend as much time with Cedric as possible, Y/n would have done similarly, only with how frazzled she was she felt perhaps it'd be better for her to just get on the train and head to that prefects meeting she was supposed to attend.
Nearly an hour into the train ride, the prefects meeting had ended, Y/n hadn't paid very much attention other than to the fact that Maia, Gaia (which confused Y/n on account of both Maia and Gaia being girls from Slytherin, meaning Slytherin had three female prefects), Angel and Sable had also been made prefects, along with a very pretty girl with curly brown hair and blue eyes from Hufflepuff, and a boy with light brown hair and brown eyes from Ravenclaw, plus Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson, Padma Patil, Anthony Goldstein, Ernie Macmillian and Hannah Abbott.
Y/n had quickly gathered up her stuff, she loved Maddy dearly but had not wished to risk being roped into helping pack up after the meeting, and followed Ron and Hermione down the train corridor.
"I'm starving," said Ron, as the three stepped into the compartment Harry was in, stowing Pigwidgeon next to Hedwig, grabbing a Chocolate Frog from Harry and throwing himself into the seat next to him. He ripped open the wrapper, bit off the Frog's head, and leaned back with his eyes closed as though he had had a very exhausting morning.
