A few days into Summer, Y/n found herself awfully lonely, with her mother banning her from seeing any of her friends (for fear they'd sell something to the press), Y/n was left with only Crescent and Elowen for company, although, Y/n felt the fact Crescent was paid to be there put a bit of a hinder to the company she provided, and whilst Y/n loved her sister dearly, she found herself growing progressively madder from the lack of other company.
And technically, she had her pet snake Medusa and her families dragon Selene and all the other animals the family had, Y/n was fearful that should she spend too much time with them, she'd start acting like an animal herself... though, she supposed the scandal that would cause her family and the look on her mothers face should that happen would make it more than worth it.
Nevertheless, after a particularly nasty scuffle with her mother, Y/n found herself wanting nothing more than to get out of that house, even if just for a few hours.
Of course, she couldn't leave in the middle of the day, not with all the Wizarding Journalists loitering outside the manor, cameras and Quick-Quotes Quills at the ready, itching to get an insight into the messy private lives of the Thorn-Borealis's, specifically that of their very fragile mental states so that they can milk a story in the hopes of gaining some kind of fame and fortune, perhaps in the hopes the extremely wealthy family will fork over some of their riches in return for them to not publish a story.
She couldn't leave through the front door either, not just because of the Journalists but because her mother would most certainly catch her, that was not an option.
She'd briefly considered climbing out her bedroom window, then she remembered her room was multiple stories up, making the chances of her falling to her death too high for her liking (she'd personally much rather it be at zero, maybe one, but given where she goes to school and the sport she plays, it's never that low).
Then, she'd realised, Cassie's old room had a very strategically positioned tree outside her window, one long branch reaching up just in front of the window, if she could get into Cassie's room, all she'd have to do is open a window and climb onto the tree.
And so, she did.
At around seven or eight pm, whilst her mother, her sister and maid were downstairs eating dinner- her mother had decided against letting Y/n eat with them as punishment- Y/n, dressed in the most muggle clothes she could find (which mostly consisted of clothes Fawn and Sable had left behind after sleepovers), used her pet bowtruckle to pick the lock to her room, and- being cautious not to make a sound- moved down the halls to her eldest sister's room, once again using the bowtruckle to pick the lock to the door, then immediately went to the window.
Normally, her sister had protective charms placed around her room to stop unwanted people from entering without her permission, though, those had since faded, only working whenever her mother tried to enter the room.
Y/n pushed the window open, glaring at the purple snake that had poked its head out of her hood.
"Don't you dare say a word." Y/n hissed, reaching out to pull a branch slightly closer.
