Prefect or not, Y/n had no intention of getting involved with Fred and George's business unless she absolutely had to. Instead, she made her way down to the Great Hall for breakfast, taking the long way down to enjoy a bit of quiet before classes started.

By the time Y/n had gotten to the marble staircase she was just behind Harry, Ron and Hermione, she sped up a bit to catch up with them.

"-Well, I think it's a pity we're not trying for a bit of inter-House unity," said Hermione crossly.

They had reached the foot of the marble staircase.

A line of fourth-year Ravenclaws was crossing the entrance hall; they caught sight of Harry and hurried to form a tighter group, as though frightened he might attack stragglers.

"Yeah, we really ought to be trying to make friends with people like that," said Harry sarcastically.

"I think inter-house unity is an excellent idea... maybe not with them but I mean- look at me, I've got Maia and Sable and Angel and Gaia, and Mads, or Angels friend group, I think they've got someone in that group from every house except Gryffindor." Y/n hummed, leaning an arm against Harry's shoulders.

"Maybe you could ask to be their first Gryffindor then." Ron muttered, making Y/n slap him upside the head.

"I just might." She huffed as they followed the Ravenclaws into the Great Hall, looking instinctively at the staff table as they entered.

Professor Grubbly-Plank was chatting to Professor Sinistra, the Astronomy teacher, and Hagrid was once again conspicuous only by his absence. The enchanted ceiling above them was a miserable rain-cloud gray.

"Dumbledore didn't even mention how long that Grubbly-Plank woman's staying," Harry said, as they made their way across to the Gryffindor table.

"Maybe . . ." said Hermione thoughtfully.
