Chapter 17

Veronica's P.O.V
I woke up excited to hang out with Noah. I got dressed and and went to brush my teeth.
"God what time are you meeting Noah at? It's so earlyyyy" Hope complained.
"Hope it's 12:00" I said laughing.
"It's still pretty early for me so I'm going back to sleep. Have fun on your date" she said and smirked then put the blanket over her head. I playfully rolled my eyes even though she couldn't see me.
I walked down the hall to the elevator only to be greeted by Grayson.
"Hey Gray" I said smiling at him.
"Hi" he said emotionless. I could tell something was wrong.
"What's wrong?" I asked as we entered the elevator.
"Nothing" he said.
"Don't lie to me I can tell so tell me I'll be like your therapist" I said to him.
"I said nothing's wrong!" He said raising his voice.
"Aye relax. God no need to raise your voice" I said with a bit of attitude. Suddenly the elevator lights started flickering then the lights went out and the elevator stopped. I'm claustrophobic so I started to freak out.
"No no no no no no no" I kept saying while pacing back and forth.
"GET US OUT OF HERE" I screamed while pounding on the elevator door.
"Woah Veronica calm down" Grayson said trying to comfort me.
"I. Can't. Breath." I said taking deep breaths.
"It's ok breath in and out" he said. I did as he told and I calmed down a little. I checked my phone and I had no signal and I started to freak out again.
"Veronica relax well just press the emergency button on the elevator" he said and pressed the button and a red light started flashing on and off in the elevator.
"Veronica what should I do to get you to calm down?" Grayson asked and he was clearly concerned. I went and I hugged him so tight. He hugged back and we just stayed there in a comfortable silence. Then I remembered. Noah. Gosh he's going to think I stood him up.
I pulled away from Gray and checked my phone again. Damn still no signal.
I tried getting some bars by waving it around in the air. I finally got a bar and I texted Noah.
Me- hey Noah I don't know if I can make it to our date. I'm stuck in an elevator and I don't know when I'll get out. I'll call you when I get out. I have no service. Sorry.
I sent him the text and I sat down on the ground. The walls seemed to be closing in on me and I brought my knees to my chest and buried my head in my knees. I felt Grayson put his arms around me. A few tears escaped my eyes. I looked up at Grayson and he was staring at me.
We just stared at each other for a few minutes until he started to lean in. I didn't try to pull away nor did I lean in. I just sat there, processing what was happening. I could feel his warm breath on my lips. Our lips was just an inch apart when we heard a knock at the elevator door.
"Hello? Is anybody in there?" I heard a man say. I stood up and rushed to the door.
"Yes! Please get us out of here!" I said.
"Don't worry we'll have you out in a minute." He said. The next thing I know was the elevator doors being pried open and there being a small gap for me and Grayson to escape from one at a time. I of course went first and then I hugged Gray once he got out.
"We are so sorry for the inconvenience we will give you free room service the rest of your stay here." The manager of the hotel said. I instantly perked up. Free food.
"Ok thank you" I said after we have her our room numbers.
"Yes! Free food!" I said happy. Grayson chuckled and we took the stairs up to our rooms then said our good byes.

Sorry for the short chapter. I'm camping this weekend and have suckish wifi. I'll try to update fast.
