Chapter 24

Veronica's POV
-in Africa-

We've been in Africa for a few hours and all I can say is, wow. The people, the different animal species, the landscape, it's all just so amazing. And Grayson is here too. No. I mean Noah. Noah is here too. Ughhhh Grayson's got my emotions f*cked up. Everyone went back home but me and the twins and Hope. So now it's just us and Noah.

We are currently at a African tour. I am getting great pictures of the animals and the landscape and I am having the time of my life. I also haven't seen him yet so that's good.

"Hey you guys I'm hungryyy" Ethan whined.

"Same" I said.

"Let's go eat!" Gray said and we were off to some restaurant. When we arrived, a waitress came to our table. I looked over to Noah and he looked terrified.

"Hey Noah you okay?" I ask. He quickly nods his head but I can tell he's lying.

"Hi I'm your waitress. What are your orders?" She asks and once her eyes land on Noah, she smirks and then winks at him. I roll my eyes at her. We order our food then she struts away. I immediately turn my head to Noah.

"Do you know her? 'Cause she seems to know you." I say to him.

"Can I talk to you alone?" He asks. I slowly nod and I start to get nervous. We get up and leave the table.

"So......" I trail off.

"Look I've got something to tell you and you may not like it." He says scratching the back of his neck.

"Go on" I am beyond scared now.

"Ok so our waitress is kind of my girlfriend" he says looking down. I am now at war with the tears threatening to spill from my eyes.

"What do you mean 'kind of'?" I ask.

"We took a break since I was going to Paris for a while. I don't know where we are now though" he says. I feel a tear go down my cheek but I quickly wipe it away. Noah finally looks up at me and I see he's sorry.

"I'm really sorry Veronica." He says and goes to hug me but I back away. I turn around and start my walk to the hotel. It'll take me at least twenty minutes to get there but I just need some time to think to myself.

Grayson's POV

Veronica has been out with Noah for a few minutes.

"Hey guys I'm going to go outside for a few minutes to...... Get some air." I said and started standing up.

"Yea right. We know you want to check on Veronica." Ethan says and chuckles.

"Ugh whatever I'm going out for a few." I say and start towards the door. When I get outside is see Noah on a bench with his head in his hands and no sign of Veronica. I go and stand in front of Noah.

"Where's Veronica?" I ask.

"She left" he says into his hands.

"What do you mean she left?" I ask and start to get angry.

"I told her something and she got upset and I think she started walking back to the hotel." He says. What if something happens on the way there? That's a pretty long walk. I haft to go after her.

I get a taxi and tell the driver the address to the hotel. It starts to rain and I'm getting more and more worried by the second. While driving I see a girl walking in the rain by herself. Veronica!

"Pull over!" I say to the driver and he pulls over. I jump out the taxi and run towards the girl I see. Once I reach her I turn her around to see a teary eyed Veronica.

"Gray?" She asks. I nod and pull her into a hug. I hear her silently sob into my soaking wet t-shirt.

Veronica's POV

I was walking when Gray came and pulled me into hug. It's raining and we probably look like freaks just standing in the rain, hugging. I pull away from the hug and look up at Gray's eyes. They're beautiful with the water reflecting off them and his dripping hair. He looks so hot. He starts to slowly lean in but I look down. I just can't handle this right now.

I guess I always did like Grayson but I also liked Noah a little bit. I wasn't really that sad about Noah I was just sad because nobody has ever stuck to me. They always disappoint me in some way. Am I that terrible that people get tired of me after a while? I'm talking about relationships. I can just never find a boy that will love me for me and not have any secrets. My 'relationships' always end quickly and I always end up getting hurt. I just don't want to feel that way again.

"I'm sorry Gray" I say while playing with my hands.

"It's ok. I get it. I should be sorry." He says and lifts my chin up so our eyes are locked.

"We should get going" he says. I nod and he grabs my hand and takes me to a taxi. Once we reach the hotel, I see someone I don't want to see.
