Chapter 17: Deals and Video Games

(a/n) GREAT NEWS!! I got some first places and second places in the Watty Awards! Thank you guys so much for voting, it really means a lot! <3 As a reward, I've decided to update early! I would host a contest, but I suck at those. Anyway, enjoy, because you guys deserve it! :D

"Forget it!" I shouted, throwing my hands up in the air in frustration. "I might as well go to breakfast naked!"

Michael poked his head out of the bathroom, a red toothbrush sticking out of his foamy mouth. He removed it and wiped his lips with the back of his hand. "Not like anyone would mind that, but why?"

I raised my eyebrows at him, ignoring his question. "I thought you said that I had nothing worth looking at?"

"Well... you don't," he said slowly. "But Luke might as well see something before he dies. He's too easy."

"How considerate of you," I said dryly. "But to answer your question, I can't get my dang pants on."

Michael bit down on a grin. "Why is that?"

"Because of my stupid cast, that's why!"

"Oh well," he said with a shrug. He turned towards the door and began to open it. "I guess that we'll see you around--"

"Wait," I said quickly, and I cursed myself for doing this. But what other choice did I have? "Can-can you... uh...."

"Yeah?" he said, glancing over his shoulder. He was smirking now, and I scowled at him.

"Canyouhelpmegetmypantson," I mumbled hurriedly.

"Sorry, what was that?"

I growled under my breath. "Can you help me get my pants on?" I asked slowly, like I was talking to a five-year old.

Michael spun around and slammed the door shut all in one fluid motion. "I'd be happy to," he said cheerfully. "But for a price."

I wrinkled my nose and slapped my hand over my chest. "No, you may not see them!"

"That's not what I was going to ask!" he retorted. "I want you to be nice to me."

I coughed. "Uh, what?"

"In exchange for my help, I want you to be nice to me for an entire day."

I scoffed. "No deal! That's totally not fair!"

"Fine, suit yourself," Michael said carelessly, shrugging. "The rest of us will be waiting for you in the dining room, if you decide to show up in all your glory."

If looks could kill, that turd would be twenty feet under by now. "Fine," I grumped. "I'll be nice to you. But only for half a day!"

"Full!" he bartered.

"Three quarters!"

"One half!"

"Done," I said with a smirk. He cursed and rolled his eyes. "Now hand me those pants over there so I can get changed."

I already had my bra and top on, so all I really needed to worry about was my pants. For some reason, Allison had insisted on buying me either dark short-shorts or black skinny jeans. I despised skinny jeans with a burning passion, but she didn't seem to know that. Or maybe she did and chose to oppose me on purpose.

"How are we going to do this?" Michael asked, holding up the jeans. He read the tag and frowned curiously. "There is no way that you're a size four."

I bristled. "Remember what I said about calling you those names the night before? You're not exactly a twig yourself."

"Hey, be nice," he warned me. "I'm helping you out, so you should be holding up your end of the deal."
