Chapter 18: Pranks and Pies
(a/n) Ralum, Meese, or Reeke? ;)
P.S. This chapter is dedicated to @logicalmuke because she is a dedicated reader and commenter, and she's one of my favorite 5SOS authors. I hope that you enjoy this, love. :)
P.P.S. I self-promote way too much, and I have way too many stories in my Currently Writing reading list. But this is just an experiment, I swear! I posted a new story called "Build-a-Buddy", and I think the title is pretty self-explanatory. It's going to be cute and (hopefully) funny, and it has an interesting twist compared to other stories like this, trust me. I really hope that you decide to check it out, and if you do, let me know what you think! Thanks for all of your help! :)
"I'm bored," Luke declared one fateful afternoon.
"Are you kidding?" I said blandly. "This is our most exciting game of checkers yet. King me, mother-trucker!"
"I'm serious," he insisted. "We've been playing chess and Monopoly and Scrabble and a bunch of other horribly boring board games for centuries!"
"And by 'centuries', you mean three days," I corrected him, raising my eyebrows.
"Exactly. That's seventy-two extremely dull hours of my life that I'll never get back. Let's do something fun."
"Like what?" Ashton asked, looking up from Calum's iPad. "We can't go anywhere, so we can't do anything different. Better get used to this, Luke, because this is our life for the next month."
The lead singer pouted. "If we don't do something fun soon, I'm going to spontaneously combust."
"I'd pay money to see that," I said in amusement.
Allison sighed and leaned her head on Luke's shoulder. "I'm with the breadstick on this one; can we please go somewhere, Lucy? I promise that we'll be careful."
"Don't call me that," Luke and I said simultaneously. We both glanced at each other curiously, but that was all.
"We have to stay here," I insisted. "How's this: instead of playing boring board games, we play other games?"
"Oh, wow, why didn't I think of that?" Michael gasped dramatically. "You're a genius, Reese!"
I smacked his arm. "I meant something like party games, active games, sports. We can literally do anything."
"If that's true, I want to go laser-tagging," Calum said, finally looking up from his magazine. The front cover had a picture of his face on it, go figure. "I would beat you all."
"Michael can testify for me that I can kick your scrawny little butts in any game that you throw at me," I smirked.
"Only video games," the guitarist reminded me.
Calum frowned. "My bum isn't scrawny."
Allison giggled. "Nope, it's super cute!"
"I'm starting to regret that I ever said anything," I muttered, rubbing my eyes.
"We could play tag," Luke said. He poked Michael's shoulder. "You're it."
"I'm not playing," he said, looking back down at his iPad.
Luke turned to me and began to reach over. Without even glancing up, I said, "Touch me and you're dead."
"We could have a prank war," Ashton suggested.
"I'm cool with that!" Michael and I exclaimed at the same time. We glared at each other.
"Let's put them on separate teams," the drummer said in a not-so-subtle manner.
