Chapter 20: Frustration and Depression

(a/n) Since I didn't get a huge response about what TV shows would make a better band fanfic, I've decided to try a different tactic. How would you guys feel about a 5SOS/1D fanfic centered at Camp Half-Blood?

P.S. Should I grow out my hair and dye it like this? It's currently short and virgin blonde lol, but this looks so cool....

I woke up slowly the next morning, yawning and stretching widely. I opened my eyes and gasped, struggling to sink deeper into my mattress. Michael grinned down at me and moved back a few inches, giving me enough room to sit up.

"Good morning, sunshine!" he cheered. "Today's the day!"

I glared at him. "The day for what?"

"The day you have to be nice to me. You can't say a single bad thing about me, or else you have to kiss me."

"Why do you even want me to kiss you so bad?" I demanded.

He wrinkled his nose. "I don't want to kiss you. I just want to see what dramatic measures you'll take to avoid it. And I want to see your reaction."

"You act excited to see me reject you."

He raised his eyebrows. "Be careful, Reese. That was a little insulting, don't you think?"

"But that'll never happen," I added quickly, forcing a tight smile. "Because why would I ever reject you?"

Michael smirked. "That's better. Now, I'm feeling a little dry this morning. Would you mind getting me a glass of water?"

I gaped at him. "Okay, time out!" I shouted.

"There are no time-outs!" he retorted. "Time stops for no man! Or woman."

"You can't just use me like your personal maid," I protested. "That wasn't part of the bet!"

"You never laid down any specifics. I can do whatever I like to you, and you can't complain. That's the fun part."

I scowled at him. "You're a little--"

"I'm a little what, Reese?" he asked. He leaned towards me and brushed his hair away from his ear. "I'm listening."

I rolled my eyes. "You're a little too pleasant this morning. Would you like some ice with your water?"

"That would be great, thanks."

I rolled out of bed and pulled my shirt lower over my knees. I grabbed the crutches that were leaning on the nightside table and balanced my weight out. I limped over to the bathroom and filled up a cup with tap water.

Wait a minute.

I glanced at the toilet and bit my lip. He wouldn't notice the difference, would he? Of course not, that water was clean. I stepped towards it, but then I hesitated. Should I? I wanted to, but what if he found out? Then I would have to kiss him for sure.

Well, not exactly. It wasn't like I insulted him or anything. It was just a happy mistake.

"Reese!" Michael yelled. "What's taking you so long? You're not poisoning it, are you? That still counts!"

I groaned to myself and turned away from the toilet. "Why do I have to be such a nice person all the time?" I grumbled as I finished filling up the cup. "It would've been easier just to scoop up some toilet water and pass it off as clean! Ugh, you're becoming soft, Reese. Man up, you dandelion!"

I returned to the sleeping area to see Michael reclining on my bed. He glanced up when he heard me, and he leaned forward. I handed the cup to him, and he inspected it suspiciously. He cast me a distrustful look through narrowed eyes.
