Chapter 5- Maya's audition

Riley burst through the the door right when Maya and Josh were about to kiss. They paused mid-air and awkwardly shifted themselves to face Riley who was holding a small dog in her arms along with the pizza box. This didn't surprise them. Riley always brought things home or found things in the street that she just had to keep. This time it was a very small and dirty dog.
"Maya, Josh look at this tiny little thing! Isn't it just the cutest? It was following me home from the pizza place so after I told him very politely that dogs should not follow humans I decided I would pick it up."
Maya rubbed her temples with her index fingers.
"So basically you went to get pizza lectured a dog and brought him home?" Maya said her arms and hair waving around.
"No Maya. She politely explained. There is a difference." Josh said going to pick up the dog.
Maya loved that Josh was so caring towards anything. It made her a little dizzy and the butterflies in her stomach did cartwheels.
"Come on then we better get you cleaned up." Said Josh walking into the bathroom with the dog trailing behind.
"Peaches." Said Riley with a giant grin on her face.
"Yeah Riles?"
"Did I interrupt something?" Riley asked silently Jumping up and down.
"No of course not." Maya answered before running into her room banging the door and spending the night and day dreaming about life with Josh.

The next day Maya had an audition for a show on Broadway. After realising she was very good at art she decided to finally explore others aspects of the artistic spectrum and she was an astonishingly good actress. It was a very small role in Wicked as a background character but she was nervous all the same. Josh was driving her to the stage where The auditions were being held and comforting her all the way there. He held her hand tightly and squeezed it to make her feel better. She was glad he cared so much to drive her to the audition and comfort her as well. There was no way her mother would do this for her. Ever

Maya stood on the stage in front of the inpatient directors. Her breath was hitched and her throat itched at the very back. She was extremely panicked at the thought of performing infront of these people. Desperately looking for an exit she scanned the room only to catch the gaze of Josh. He reassured her with a smile and nodded for her to continue. Seeing this gave her so much confidence. She saw that he believed in her and that's all she needed.

Afterwards as they were walking back to the car Maya turned to Josh to thank him for all he had done to which he replied
"What? I didn't do anything." He said rubbing the back of his neck.
"You have done so much Josh! Letting me move here to New York with you, helping me in the audition. For god sake even catching me when I fell out of that church! You have no idea how much you've done for me!" She said this with so much passion. And Josh smiled a small smile evidently touched by her words. Maya lifted up onto her tiptoes and kissed him on his lips. It was slow and passionate and they both Enjoyed every moment of it. Maya pulled away first and shock flashed over her eyes almost as if she couldn't believe what she had done. Maya hated what she was about to do. She was going to run away from a man again. She breathed out as he opened his eyes turned on her heel and ran away.Again.

They finally kissed guys.That is big news.So I can't believe Maya is running away again,after everything Josh is doing to show her how much he loves her.
