The runaway bride and the boy in the beanie.

Chapter 33- 2 am

Maya was lied in bed when she first felt it. It was something  painful for sure, right in her stomach. Right where the baby was. Good god no. Not again. She was NOT gonna lose this baby. She already lost one.
Maya shook Josh until he woke up. She then proceeded to hit him with a pillow until he got out of bed and got dressed. He jumped around on the cold floor in the bedroom of their apartment as he was pulling in his socks and avoiding the pillows that Maya was throwing at him. Why did they have so many Goddam pillows? He had certainly not bought them. They where probably from Riley, who insisted that one should never have a lack of pillows as one was never sure when one would have a guest that wished to sleep and Riley was determined to never not have a guest who couldn't sleep with a pillow. The sheer thought disgusted her. Yuck. Bad hosting.
Maya was now up and getting rest to go to the hospital. It scared her now. At first it was funny to watch Josh jump around in his undies but now Maya felt like they where running out of time, time they couldn't get back.

The drive there was the scariest part. Both parents left alone in thought about the baby that may or may not enter the world. The thought of another baby dying and them being childless again was terrifying. The thought of raising a child and that child facing the world was even more terrifying. Because that would mean that Josh and Maya would be responsible for a life and neither of them where ready. Neither of them were ready to lose another child as well. It was a very narrow line they where walking. Better watch there step.
Maya was brought to the maternity ward at 11:34 pm with Josh following close behind. He made various calls to their family's and there friends. He then had his finger broken as Maya was in labour and holding on to his hand for dear life and also blaming him for what she was going through. He paid for what he did with a broken finger.
At 2 am after a painful 2 hours of labour their daughter Autumn Katy Alison Matthews was born shouting and screaming with her sparkling blue eyes and wispy golden blonde hair. Josh was first to hold her and then Maya. Then they where told that there was a small problem and it needed to be fixed. So Maya would go into surgery and everything would be fine and they would be home within the next 24 hours. Except it wasn't. There where the horrible words again. A complication. An error. The surgery had gone Ok but Maya's body wasn't responding to the anaesthetic well and she was in a lot of pain. Because of the pain Maya's body had in a way shut down. She was in a coma.
Josh was told all of this while feeding Autumn. He then took her to see her mommy. Who was quite placidly sleeping in a sickly green bed.
The scariest thing about a raising a kid is you are responsible for how the kid turns out. That was scary for both Josh and Maya.
But now,
It was scary to think that Josh would have to raise this Kid alone.

A/N
So......slightly.....very.......depressing.....of......a......chapter.
But also a very amazing chapter which leaves me (Megan) a lot of ways to go down with Maya and her coma.
Will she die?
Will she survive?
Or will she just sit in a coma but think she is awake like the plot line to the film 'If I stay'?
I don't know because I haven't written it yet.
