Chapter Forty Six-Bail me out

The events follow on straight after the ending of the last chapter...
Maya kept her eyes locked with Josh's.She thought that if she acted like only herself and Josh lived in the world then she wouldn't have to face Kermit fully.There was no way Maya was even thinking about calling him father.Eventhough she was the person to leave the last time they met she still couldn't believe that Kermit never tried to get in touch,not even to ask how she was or to say happy birthday or congratulations.Ha no guess who the father of the year will be there is there?

"She looks exactly like you Maya,you are raising a very beautiful little girl there aren't you?"
Kermit snapped Maya out of her own land.
"She has a name.Autumn come here and say goodbye to this man before he leaves."
Riley looked at Maya with eyes pf sadness,she atleast thought Maya may have tried to build up a relationship with Kermit,even if that was just distant aquaintances.Anything would be better than what they were now.
"Peache-"
"No Riley don't start.I have listened to his story twice now and the last time I couldn't forgive him but atleast I forgave myself.Who am I meant to forgive this time because I sure as hell won't forgive Kermit over here.Not fully anyway..."
Maya said the final part a little quieter but still loud enough so then everyone in the room could here.
"Ba-bye"
Autumn came up from behind Maya and wobbled up to Kermit.He seemed happy about this and picked up Autumn and hugged her and whispered aoemthing into her ear.
"Right that's enough,Autumn needs her nap now anyway."
Maya reached over to Autumn and then gave her to Josh so then he could take her into the other room.
"I will go with him.Shout if you need anything Maya."
Riley left Kermit and Maya together in the room.Vivid flashbacks came back to Maya all at once,the last time they had a discussion alone resulted in Maya crying,not this time she thought.

"My feelings have changed that much since I last saw you.....My mom died just incase you didn't know and I also had twins but one of them died....Alison she was called.....she......she looked exactly like Autumn when she was born."
"Maya you don't have to tell me your life if you don't wan-"
"NO.JUST LET....Just let me speak for once and let me tell you what I want to say."
Maya walked over to the kitchen counter amd sat down on a stool.Kermit followed and took a seat beside Maya.
"After losing my mom and getting married and moving to New York and the. Losing a child and also having a child I have realised that I can't hold grudges about everything in life.Life is way to short for that.I just don't know how to forgive someone who I don't know-"
"Exactly that's why I want ypu to know me."
"YEAH WELL I DONT WANT TO KNOW....I know enough about you for my lifetime.As long as I know that you are healthy and okay then that is fine.I am trying my best not to lose it here but I can't.I can't do any of this......Thankyou for trying to help me and wanting me to forgive you...."
Maya couldn't finish,she ran ito her bedroom and locked the door behind her.She let her body slowly slude dpwn the wall as she broke apart.She hated herself because she kept promising that she would stop breaking yet there she was.Again.No again wasn't the word,again could never describe the repeated pattern that Maya's life goes in.Tradgedy?Or maybe just bad luck in life,either way Maya couldnt understand why hers was the life that was chosen.
"Maya come on we just need to finsih and thenwe can stop worrying about this day and go back to life being happy,Okay?"
