Chapter Eight-Her

Katy.Why in the world was Katy outside of their apartment and how did she know where Maya lived?Of course Maya knew that nothing this good could last forever.In Maya's life nothing could ever last,well nothing good anyway.
"Aren't you going to let your freezing cold mother in?Honey I have been missing you so much.Life back in Philly just isn't the same without you."
Katy pushed herself through the door amd walked into the warm apartment.Maya could not believe that her mom was being so friendly to her.In fact Maya couldn't believe her mom was even here.Riley,Farkle and Josh had all stood up at this point and where huddled around the centre of the living room waiting for Maya to say something.
"Mom what are you doing here in my house.How did you even know I was here?I ran away to get a fresh start and to get away from you so why have you followed me?"
Maya was now screaming at her mother.She was furious and she didn't care if she was being harsh she just wanted her mom to leave.
"There is no need to speak to me like that I was only here to make sure your life is okay since you walked out on your wedding.Oh and thanks for that by the way you left me to deal with all of the people in the church plus Matt's family.I can't believe you were that selfish and didn't even think about what sort of pain that caused me.I was so embarrased and I am extremely ashaned of you.You could have been married to a rich man by now and livig the dream but instead you are in a crappy apartment in New York with what I am guessing is your best friend Riley,her boyfriend and what are you Maya's new boyfriend?"
She pointed to Josh for the last part and had a disgusted look on her face.By this point all four of them were mad.They where now all stood in a line and Maya had tears in her eyes.Her fragile body beginning to tremble.Josh pulled her into a tight hug and shushed her until she had calmed down.Now it was Rileys turn to get mad.
"How dare you call Maya and Josh and all of us for that matter!We are doing fine here because we have a wonderful,spacious apartment,we all now have jobs and Maya gave and incredibly great audition for a show on BROADWAY.Yes she is doing way better than she ever would if she was still in Philly with you and that uptight family.Now if you don't mind I suggest you get out of this apartment and never come back."
The next thing Riley did was shocking.She walked upto Katy and slapped her right in the face.To Riley it felt amazing to do something for once that was out of character.
Maya had never seen Riley this mad and she was afraid that her mom had ruined the sweet Riley that used to be in the place of this new monster.Maya stepped forward and gently placed a hand on Riley's shoulder,urging her to calm down.
"Mom just please leave before this house gets any more angrier than it already is.Please."
With that Katy gave each one of them a dirty look and grabbed her bags and slowly walked out of the door.She stopped and looked at Maya.
"As of now I do not have a daughter nor do I ever want one if this is what it is like.Goodbye forever honey."
Katy strutted out of the door leaving Maya with tears in her eyes.Yet again she was left by someone and she felt broken.

The rest of the night was spent with Maya and Josh sat on the couch,cuddling up with each other until Maya finally settled enough to go to sleep.Riley and Farkle left the room shortly after Maya stopped crying and Josh didn't even want to think what they were doing.It was just him and his love on the couch.He loved watching her sleep however when he looked her innocent sleeping face he saw something on it that he hadn't seen in a long time.She looked broken.His Maya could not be broken.He needed to fix her again.But how?
