Chapter 35- Baby

Riley told Maya that she was pregnant almost a week after New Years. Maya responded by screaming in the middle of Topanga's. They received quite a few odd looks. It's not everyday you see two grown women jumping up and down laughing and screaming while a baby is sleeping in a stroller in the middle of a public place. Then again, this was New York and there was something or someone weird and wonderful around every corner. That's what Riley and Maya loved about New York. That and everything else. The lights, the sounds but most of all, they both got a feeling there. Even when they thought about it. There was a feeling deep inside of them.  That was so so so magical. It made them happy and warm and bubbly. Both of them. New York was there home. Even when they weren't there. They weren't even from there. But it was home. And it would be forever more.
"Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?"
"We don't know yet, we have a doctors appointment next week."
"What do you want it to be?"
"I don't mind."
Riley......"
"I WANT A GIRL SO I CAN GIVE IT ALL OF MY WOMANLY KNOWLEDGE."
"Riley you don't have any womanly knowledge."
"Do so."
"Do not."
"Do."
"Don't."
" do do do do do. I ALSO WANT A LITTLE BOY."
"Why do you want a little boy?"
"Because I want to dress him in waistcoats and BOWTIES."
Riley was very very excited now. Despite the fact that she was only a few months pregnant. She was so excited that she had already started decorating the nursery in her apartment. It made Maya laugh to see her very weird friend get so excited over her child. She could understand it though. Maya loved every moment she had with Autumn and tried to bring her everywhere she went. Autumn was with them in Topanga's and almost instinctively Maya picked her fragile beautiful baby and hugged her close to her chest while her giddy friend babbled about colours.
"And blue is traditionally for boys but I think it could work for a girl ya know? Maya.......Maya are you listening?"
Riley smiled at her best friend, who, rather rudely, not paying the slightest bit of attention to her and staring down lovingly at her daughter. Riley was Autumns godmother and it was an unspoken rule that Maya would be the baby's. Eventually, Maya snapped out of her trance and turned back to Riley.
"So do you have any names?"
"Yes we do. If it's a boy River and if it's a girl, Cleo."
"Those names are adorable."
"I know right. We always had River but It was either Mollie or Cleo.
Mollie Cleo Mollie Cleo Mollie Cleo Mollie Cleo Mol....."
"I get it Riles. I'm happy you'll be able to achieve such amazing happiness like me."
"I only hope to have a relationship like you and Autumn."
"Thank you Honey."

So I love this chapter particularly because it talks about New York and living there and mine and Hannahs dream is to live in New York together when we are older so YAY.
