Chapter Thirty Four-Beep

Josh was sat by Maya's bed,focusing all of his energy on the beeps of her monitor.Autumn was sat in her little cot by the side of him and everything but the monitor was silent.It had been around 1 week since Maya had gone into a coma and no one knew what to do.Josh stayed by Maya's side along with Autumn as they had gotten a family room and the only time he ever left was to go home and get showered and changed.On those occasions Riley would come to sit with Maya.The doctors came in and out on a routine but they didn't really understand what was happening.No one did.They called Maya 'a mystery case'.Gosh Maya would have loves that,being an even bigger mystery to the world than she already was.Shawn had visited on numerous occasions and so had the rest of the Matthews and Farkle.Josh was slowly losing his mind.Insanity was creeping its way into his mind but he kept it well hidden.Only Maya knew what Josh was going through,he would sit there and tell her and Autumn about what was going on in his head but he knew that she couldn't hear anything.

Josh was slowly slipping off into a slumber when the monitor changed its rthym.The lights began to flash read and the pace increased rapidly.Nurses and doctors flooded into the room as Josh and Autumn were pushed out.Josh was shouting at anyone who would listen to him,he wanted answers.
"Sir you need to move."
"Sir you need to calm down"
Sir everything will be ok just take your daughter out into the waiting area please."
The voices were a blur to him.In that room his wife was being treated for some mystery cause and the doctors were cutting at her and injecting her with many different medicines.The curtains closed and Josh saw the last sight of his wife,her eyes shut,her long blonde locks being tossed all over her bed,her face an awful shade of pale.

Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Silence.
More silence.
Nothing.

2 months later-New Years Eve.
Josh set out the last of the party food and drinks.Autumn was asleep in her room and Riley and Farkle had arrived early to help Josh prepare for his annual New Years Eve party.It had been a months since that terrible say at the hospital and everyone had slowly begun to settle back into life.Autumn had woken up and began to protest by screaming at the top of her lungs.
"I will get her.She probably wants feeding."
Maya stood up carefully from her seat and disappeared out of the room.
"I am so glad they managed to save her.We all would be a mess if she had died."Riley said that in her most considerate voice but she couldn't hold onto it because she was still overly excited about the fact that Maya had survived and they were going to have another New Years Eve party.
Josh followed Maya into Autumn's room and placed his arms around her waist whilst she held Autumn in her arms.
"I love you so much Maya Penelope Matthews.It has been a very long year hasn't it.To think this time last year we where about to become idiots and kiss other people."
Maya sighed at the memory of what happened last year.
"Never again.I am way happier than I could ever be with you and our daughter."
Josh smiled at that and added before letting go of Maya and walking out of the room,
"Hey I just realised that we have only been together for 1 year and 4 months.We have come a very very very long way since then.Now let's go get the party started and greet our guests."

Shawn had offered to take Autumn for the night and he picked her up shortly after the party began.Maya was fretting over how Autumn would sleep but everyone calmed her nerves quite quickly.
The party continued to grow and soon the clock struck 12.Josh pulled Maya into his arms and kissed her with all of his might.They moved together and their lips never parted,a few minutes later they were split up by Riley bouncing over and shouting
"HAPPY NEW YEAR.NOW GO GET A ROOM YOU TWO."
And they did.

Riley and Farkle wrapped up the party after around another hour and then headed home.Their hands were intertwined and they gazed i to each others eyes lovingly.
"So Riles did you tell Maya about us setting a date for the wedding?"
Riley nodded eagerly.
They were to be married exactly a month from today and exactly one year after Josh and Maya.It was going to be perfect.
"Did you tell Maya about our other news."
Riley shook her head this time.
"I will tell her about the baby tommorow when we see her again.......We are going to make great parents aren't we?"

Thought Maya was dead for a second. Megan would have also been dead as I would have murdered her. Great writing Megan. Very suspense much excite.
