Chapter 11 - Christmas

Maya finished applying her makeup and stood up from the makeup table. She pushed her hair back from her head and rubbed her eyes for the millionth time. Christmas was always the hardest time of the year. It's when her real father walked out, Shawn walked out and recently her mother had walked out on her too. She wasn't yet sure if this was a bad thing or not. Time would tell she supposed. She wished she could see Shawns face again though. She missed him everyday. Josh had done well to make her forget about him but it was often when Josh was asleep and the whole apartment was quiet that she would remember Shawn. And that always brought tears to her eyes. Maya hoped that this Christmas would be so full of friendship and laughter and love that she wouldn't remember any of it. She doubted it though. She doubted it a lot.

It was when they where sat on the sofa playing never have I ever when Eric burst through the door.
"HELLOOOO NICHE AND FRIENDS"
He bellowed scratching at his beard and licking his lolly pop.
"UNCLE ERIC!" Riley screamed jumping up and hitting the Christmas tree in the progress. It fell over and hit Farkle on the head nearly taking out his eye. He pushed it back up and quickly straightened his jumper before hurrying to shake Eric's hand.
Eric stood confused at the mans little hand ready for him to shake. He patted it and turned away leaving Farkle baffled and called someone in.
"Oh Mayonaise there's someone here to see you." He said sitting next to her on the couch. He happened to sit where Josh was sitting and was rested peacefully in his lap.
Shawn hunters' bearded face appeared around the door frame to a very shocked Maya Hart. Josh quickly ran to Shawns side ready to announce why he was here but Shawn dismissed him quietly. It was clear he had something to say. But what?

"Maya, it's been a very long time since I've seen you but you should know that I love you very much and no matter what I will always be here for you." Maya wiped the tears from her sparkling eyes and ran over to him, her worries and awful memories fading away. This was perhaps a bandaid over her very broken heart.
