My Days With Alex

Game Time Part Two

The next day, I saw my grandpa having this smirk on his face, "what" I said walking to to kitchen. He laughed and responded " one more day until game day and I got a called from some colleges coming to the game, and before you ask me how I got them I asked your coach to change your guardian and things like that." I was glad to hear that and more excited to know that he's my guardian and my dad will stay out of my soccer information. I went over to the counter and hugged and said "thanks for everything papa see you later", before walking to my vehicle. The car ride was quiet since Alex wanted Syd to pick her up and I didn't know why and didn't asked questions. When I got to the school I saw my beautiful brunette standing with the gals, when I walking towards I felt a hand grabbed me and forcing me another way. I heard a firmly voice "damn Tobin you been to busy with her, when are you going to help me get that date with her." I turned and started laughing nonstop "Ash I'm going to help today before practice and I haven't been that busy with her. I'm having so family problems okay." Ash looked at me and said "oh, okay so how are we doing this. We walked to class acting bad ass and there was Ali and Alex standing together me and Ash was just talking and decided it's time. At first I thought a double date but I think Ashlyn could take this on her own. I walked toward Alex and kiss her cheek and then to Ali and gave her a note. Ash didn't want to hand her a note so I had to do it. Ali read it and handed it me back, when I was opening it I felt a hand hit me, when I turned it was Alex and she was not in a happy mood. She left the room and I knew she thought I was hiding something or someone behind her back. I got up after her and handed Ashlyn the note. I ran out and screamed "ALEX!!" She turned to me and slapped me and said "why, how could you do that? She likes Ashlyn and Ashlyn is in love with her how could you do that to her." Wow I thought before speaking "Lex listen I do not like her I like you and I'm trying to help Ashlyn get a date with her not me." Her face was priceless and she hugged me tight and I saw her have a sigh of relief.

Practice came around and Ash came to me "yes your planned work and thanks and sorry for making Alex think you was cheating or hitting on Ali." I smiled and hit her arm and replied "yeah no problem but I don't need that sorry you should apologize to Alex." As I laughed walking to the field. Practice was great even tho that Alex was kinda mad at me and Ashlyn. She could never be mad at me even if she tried. Coach Ellis had a short practice, she wanted us to have some rest for tomorrow's game. So I tooked Alex home and made sure she was ready for tomorrow. I kinda been giving her hints that if win she will be coming home with me and meeting my grandpa. When I dropped her off she wanted to talk and maybe make out a little before I left.

It's game day! When I walked out of the house that morning, I had a beautiful girlfriend and had the most amazing team too. We got to the school and there was cameras everywhere and they all was talking about Alex Morgan playing on the soccer team. I found her and she was inside with the gals and we all looked dumbfounded about the news reporters. It was getting close to game time and I knew that Alex was kinda nervous. I went to her and whisper "I got your back, and you will do fine. Don't worry about the cameras and the news reporters will be talking about you because you are the baby horse on that field not an actress." I kissed her forehead before walking away.  Coach Ellis walked in the locker room and started to talk "let's get a win and beat the Falcons okay. Let's attack and defend. I want Alex on top with Abby y'all just keep attacking okay. Pinoe and Tobin do great on the wings and please find your forwards. Cheney, Lloyd just play strong and help your forwards got it. Yes I know I'm starting the freshmen Julie Johnston in the back but she's like a brick with the brick wall let's go fight and win!" We walked out on the field it was a lot of fans and I didn't understand why? Was it because of Alex? I knew their was some more security than ever and I knew that the news reporters wasn't there at the game which was a sigh relief. Game started and the Falcons was strong but not as strong has the brick wall. With 30 minutes of the first half as pasted the score was 0-0. I could tell that Alex was getting frustrated by the defender and the goalie. Before the whistle was blown for halftime the Falcons took the first shot and it slip by Hope Solo. The referee blew the whistle, we walked to the locker room I saw everyone looking down and when I looked at Alex her body language was tight for her I knew I had to help, but coach Ellis came in to talk to us and made us feel pumped up again.

We walked back on the pitch, before I walked on I grabbed Alex jersey and hugged her. I whisper "calm down, find your spot and I will find you I promise" she kissed me and winked and I knew she was ready to kick the Falcons ass. The second half started and we was out passing the Falcons and we was making shots left and right. We was earning corner kicks and free kicks. Pinoe took the corner and when she kicked it, people started to cheer. I saw Carli Lloyd running to the flagpole by Pinoe and we knew the game was tied 1-1. The clock kept ticking and I knew this was my chance to get an assist and keep my promise to her. It was the 85 minute and I was nutmeg the Falcons midfielder and when I saw an opportunity and kicked the ball. I saw Alex and the play was landed in front of her and she did her famous first touch, the next thing I saw she kicked it in a weird angle with her left foot. The goalie went another way and the ball hit the back of the net. We y'all went crazy and celebrate like there was no tomorrow, I saw Alex running straight to me, so I knew had to catch her. She was in my arms and she whisper "we are going to win and you kept your promise." With it being the 90 minute and 1 minute of extra time, we knew that we couldn't stop fighting. The final whistle blew and went to celebrate in the locker room. We took showers and change and before I left the locker room Alex grabbed me and kissed me passionately and said "I'm ready to meet your grandpa and we do work well together." We walked out together and then separated to our families. She called my name and I knew it was time that she will came to my house for the first time and meet him.
