Game day

Tobin's POV
It feels like I have been here for months, but it's been almost week or two. It's Friday, and I won't see Alex because the last playoff game to see if they go to state. It's sad that I can't go or play tonight, but my teammates are texting me about the day. I hope some of their parents update more likely Alex's dad. I think I made Alex mad with my flirting ways with the nurse and Marley, she doesn't know about doc Taylor yet.

I'm glad that my grandpa would stay with me today and other family members too. I hangout with Jeff, mainly most of the day before a unexpected visitor. My brother left, and River replaces the seat that Jeff was sitting in.

"Hey Tobin, how's it going?" He asked.

"Good rather be somewhere else right now" I tell him.

"Oh the game. Alex told me about it" he tells me as I got a little jealous that he's been talking to Alex.

"Oh that's cool" I say as looked at my phone.

"Tobin I know that you hate this, but it's going to take time okay" he says to me as I looked at him.

"You don't know me. This sucks, you don't know what I'm going through okay!" I hollered at him.

"Tobin I don't know you, but I have been in a similar position! I blew my knee out my first year of college." He informs me.

"Oh" I say

"Yeah I just want to help okay" he tells me as he got up to leave.

"No you can stay. Sorry" I tell him before he walked out.

"Okay so we can be on Twitter and watch the game Alex told me that" River explains to me as I nodded and grabbed my tablet (grandpa brought up one day).

Alex's POV
Game day and the first game I'm not playing with Tobin. I know that Pinoe and Hao going to take the flanks, but it's different. This lineup is confusing it changed since Tobin been in the hospital like, Press took Abby spots, Hao took Tobin's spot, and Kelley taking Ali's spot.

Practice as been exhausting but it's a good relief that's it been tough because we do want to go to state. I want to win for Tobin not for me. I even tried to ask if I could wear Tobin's jersey number, but coach told me no.

I was playing this game for her my socks low like her's and wrote T.H17 on my shoes. Even though I don't know what's going on with her and that intern, I am jealous, but I'm not trying to worry about it.

It was time to play as we walked on the field before the national anthem, they did a sweet speech for Tobin, and I  smiled, and then I knew why have my socks low. After the national anthem and lineups, we huddle and Abby said, "let's do this for Tobin!"

The other team the Panthers took it first, and I knew they were really good. JJ, Becky was defending well as for Hope making great saves. This game they had the ball more, and once I saw JJ get the play and sprinting up, I knew we had control.

The time was ticking and Hao got us a corner Pinoe took it, and it was a nice kick Carli headed it for our first goal of the game. Around the 35 minutes, the Panthers tried multiple of times until Lauren fouled no yellow but still a free kick. Number 15 for the Panthers took the free kick and next a ball hit the back of the net. Hope tried to control us and be back to focus as we took the ball back to the middle.

Halftime great tied game, and I haven't scored for Tobin or play like I normally do. I sat down in my locker and breath as I closed my eye's imaging Tobin in front of me giving me her billion smile and telling me you got this baby horse.

I open my eyes and said, "let's attack starting with Moe and Cheney as help from Kelley and Kling. Hao keep it with those crosses, and Press let's trick the defenders."

Their eyes was wide on me as I said that. They looked at each and back at me and then all said "let's do it!" We walked backed on the field to warm up, I told Pinoe as we stood together "I trust okay let's win."

The second half started as Carli kicked me the ball, and I passed to Becky. I saw Kelley running the flank with Hao, Press running beside them, and we started in a run and pass the play. I did a nice cut and run as Pinoe kicked me the ball and next a whistle was blown, and I was offside.

Defense was on fire as I looked on the sideline seeing Ali coming in. As Ali came in because foul from a player of the Panthers. Time became a problem still tie, and I notice the game is close to end. I prayed that I can cause a change right now. I saw a nice tackle by Kling and pass to Pinoe, and I sprinted and then called for the ball.

Pinoe kicked it to me as I saw it and took my first touch. Next I see the goalkeeper off her line, and I kicked between her and the right side of the post. I saw she slid to stop it, but she was too late and I saw it hit the back of the net. I ran straight to the student section and then to Cheney as I hugged and next to Pinoe. With high-fives from the team and I yelled "for Tobin!""

The game wasn't over so Abby came in for Press, and Lori came in for Moe. We were leading 2-1, and the time was almost there that final whistle was so close. We still defended and attacking the Panthers and tried to waste clock.

"Whistle blew"

We jump up and down and celebrate, and we all decided to get change and celebrate with Tobin. Our parents made a sign if we won so we can show her when I see her. As we got on the bus and back to school, we all laughed and got into our on vehicles.

At the hospital is slow as we walked the halls, and once I saw her door number I smiled. I'm lucky I took a lot of photos what I looked like in tonight's game and my shoes. I open the door and say that intern and River in there.

"Hey baby" I say as I walked in.

"Alex hey" I say

"So I guess you heard the news?" I tell her.

"Um no tablet died, and then we have been playing games" she said as I sighed of relief.

I showed her the sign that said, "States Here We Come!!" I saw her light up and said, "yes so what was the score?"

Then our teammates all came in and Pinoe said, "your girl rocked it; she scored the last goal for you! She was rocking the low socks too!" She yells as we all laughed.

"Dang it missed it" she says, and I laughed going to her and kissing her in front of everybody.

"Okay take it easy" the intern said as she left.

I showed her the photos of how I looked and the shoes. She smiled at them and I knew she loved it, all of it. I couldn't believe that we were going to state. We all stayed there until a few lefts and more left. Then I realized it was just me and her as I laid next to her.

"Low socks look good on you" she says as I blushed.

"Thanks but I think you rock it better" I tell her as I kissed her.

"Lex I love you" she says as I smile

"I know and I love you too. I'm still mad, and I don't like that intern." I imply as I laid on her chest.

I heard her chuckle as I knew she thinks this is a game. I'm so serious I can't deal with this when I'm at school, and she's here with this good looking intern and her Doctor Taylor omg thinking about it making me mad and so jealous. I closed my eyes, and I felt her arms squeeze my sides as I know she's not letting me go.
