I CALLED THE HOUSE to leave a voice mail on the answering machine so my dad wouldn't be mad at me. Brian had said that he would tell him but i had to make sure I did too.

Bundle of nerves, that's what i was, when we were driving to their house or was it Brian's house? And Annabeth was staying there too? Wouldn't that be awkward if I moved in too... but that thought i blocked out immediately.

I had the unfortunate luck of having to sit in the front with Brian because Annabeth was in the back with Porter. I didn't dare to look over at him, which resulted in me gazing out the window during the entire car ride. Annabeth and Brian were talking about something but I had tuned them out completely. In the stillness of the void, a song came into sound and I started to hum it in my thoughts while mouthing the words every now and then.

'I dedicate this song to you, the one who never sees the truth. That i can take away your hurt...heartbreak girl...hold you tight straight through the day, like I'm right here...when you gonna realize...'that i can...

"Mia?" Brian's voiced pulled me from singing in my day dreaming.

I turned my head and faced him, "Yeah?"

"You're sort of blocking the side mirror," he told me. "Can you sit back a little?"

"Oh...sorry," I apologized, moving back into my sit and looking straight ahead.

The length of distance we drove, alerted me to the fact that we were going away from the town and more out, deeper into the forest, away from the town and the area my dad lived. I guessed that they lived a bit further out and away from everyone else.

The house was big--almost the size of a mansion. The house was built on a hillside, the car had to drive up until it reached the part of the driveway that leveled out. Dried brown dirt and large boulders decorated the landscape. A few trees stood in the middle of the driveway and near the outside of the house, as well as the surrounding areas. The house was built of stones with varies of white, orange, and beige hues. it looked fortified and strong. It was painted a eggshell cream color and decorated with brown borders. The garage could fit two or more cars and the driveway was wide enough for more. It was beautiful the way the lights in the house made it glow orange from afar.

The car came to a stop and i waited until they were out of the car. My door swung open and there was Annabeth.

"Mia, welcome to our home." She smiled. As i figured, she and Porter lived here with him. I thought it was odd because she was mated to the Alpha. I wondered why she didn't live with him...

"I thought 'mates' of the Alpha lived with him?" I asked out loud.

"Under the Crown Laws, they're supposed to but this particular situation is different." Brian answered, or rather, recited as he appeared from the other side of the car.
