Brian's POV
SHE WAS WALKING away from me now.
It was the hardest thing to do, to look at her face, as Malcolm forced her out of the room and to know that it would be the last time I saw her.
"You're pretty tough," Joseph said. "I probably would have caved in the first few days."
"Mind over matter." Gerrard grunted. "That's all its about. Compartmentalizing."
"Hump." I scoffed.
"Got something to say?" Gerrard barked.
"No." I said.
They put on some work gloves to keep their skin from the silver. The chains clanked as they removed them from my body and fell to the floor.
My legs failed me and I fell to the floor.
"Come on," Joseph's grabbed my right arm and lifted me up. Gerrard taking my left side.
They helped me back above ground, threw me into the back of the car, and drove me to my home.
"You have till midnight to leave," Gerrard informed me again. "Don't be here when we return."
"Yeah man, we don't wanna kill ya." Joseph added.
I got out, closed the car door, and entered my house.
Left untouched and in disarray. The fruits in the bowl were long past expired and it was the cause of the pungent smell and odor. I grabbed the bowl and tossed the rotten contents into the trash and placed the empty bowl in the sink, with half in mind to start cleaning but convinced myself against it. What was the use of cleaning, when this place was no longer my home? My time would be better spent doing other things, like packing. I almost laughed at that thought then decided To go up stairs to pack up what little I could and be on my way.
