"HAVE YOU HEARD from mom?" I asked, realizing we hadn't heard from her since that terrible phone call at two in the morning.
He sighed and shook his head,"No, I haven't."
"She's okay right?"
"I'm sure she is," he nodded. He tries to put on a brave face for me but I could tell he was worried for her too. Worried for his mate, mother of his child, and his bane of existence.
We pulled around to the front of the house. Well to be exact, it was a mansion that was standing tall and proud. The roof was covered with layers of snow but you could see the brick color peeking out. The many windows were drawn closed but you could see the illumination from the light inside.
A couple of minutes later we were joined by a man in a snow jacket and his hood was pulled up. He knocked on the window with his gloved hands.
My dad rolled down his window.
"Noah Peterson?" One of the men asked who was guarding the entrance to the house.
"Yes."
"We've been expecting you and Mia." The guard looked at me when he said my name. "If you'll get out of the car and follow me. He motioned to the man next him. "Roberts will park your car in our garage."
I looked at my dad, worried. I didn't know who these people were.
"It's okay," he assured, turning off the car and unbuckling his seat belt.
I exited the car and immediately felt the full force of the cold weather. It was much worse than I thought. I felt the cold shaking me to the core.
The guard took of his coat and handed it over to me. He must have noticed I was cold.
"Thanks." I took it and wrapped it around me real fast.
He lead us down the cobble stone path towards the front door.
"Careful on the steps," he told us. "They're a bit slippery."
He knocked on the door and it opened.
"Charles," A man greeted him. "How's the weather out there?"
"Cold and white," he replied stepping inside the house. Then he asked. "Where is Alpha Nicholas?"
"He's inside his office," The man informed.
Charles beckoned us to follow him and we did so.
Alpha Nicolas was a handsome man. He didn't look a day over thirty. He had light ash-blond hair and the same colored beard growing on his chin. His eyes were the same as Brian's. He was wearing a button up plaid and some jeans. Right now we were waiting for him to finish up on the phone. My eyes scanned the room and landed on a family group photo. I could see Brian standing in the back because of his height. I saw Brian's parents too and I saw where Brian had got his looks from. The Westerly's were good looking people.
