As soon as we crossed the border back into California, he was there waiting for us. There were two large black SUV's blocking our path right in the road. It was like they knew we were about to show up and drove their cars to block us. Malcolm was standing out in the road waiting for us, his hands folded in front of him and his loyal followers standing on both sides of him. There was no way to get by them without a fight, a fight I knew my dad didn't want and wouldn't win even if he tried.

"We can ram them?" He suggested.

"I don't think that'll help us." I shook my head.

He sighed, "You're right. Even if we managed to break through I don't know any other place to go for refuge. "

"I guess this is it then."

My dad stopped the car a few inches away from them and rolled down the windows.

"Noah, let's not make the situation any worse than it already is," Malcolm spoke loud enough for me to hear too. "Give me Mia."

"Alpha Nicholas declared that Mia would be safe and free from you." My dad told him.

"Alpha Nicholas's declarations no longer holds any weight anymore; you've crossed back over into my territory." Malcolm declared and added. "He should also know better than to interfere with my affairs."

"You'll have a war on your hands, if you harm Mia." My dad warned.

"There will be no war or harm," Malcolm seemed sure. "Now let's get this done--don't make me repeat myself."

There was no way out this time and I didn't want anyone else hurt because of me, especially my dad. I had to give myself up. I knew what I had to do. I had to go with Malcolm and hoped that The Crown would get here in time before the Winter Solstice celebration night. If he didn't, then my fate was sealed. Nothing else would matter anymore.

"Dad it's okay." I said, unbuckling my seat belt.

"No Mia, it's not. I can't let you go with him." My dad protested.
