WHEN I FINALLY woke up, it was morning. I found a fleece blanket draped over me. I guessed that someone had come in the middle of the night to check on me. I sat up and scanned the room for the book; it was gone. I stood up to stretch out my back and my bones before walking to the door. My stomach all of a sudden started growling. I walked to the door and twisted the door handle. It opened and sure enough, Joseph was sitting there in a chair. His eyes were on me like a hawk before he even bothered to turn his head to face me.

"Going somewhere?" He asked alerted by my presence. It was only then that I noticed him. Noticed his black hair, his dark brown kind eyes, his prominent jawline that was home to a beard, and his over all body. Joseph was tall, dark, handsome, and looked young too.

"I'm hungry so I'm going down to the kitchen. Or do I need to ask you to go anywhere?" I sarcastically replied.

"Actually, you're right on time," he replied ignoring my sarcasm. "I was just about to come get you."

"Oh." I said. He brought his hand up to his chin and scratched it; his five o'clock shadow now taking form of a full beard.

"And you know I don't want to be babysitting you." He grunted while getting up.

"But you have to." I finished his sentence and he simply nodded. He looked tired and I was sure sitting in a chair all day was exhausting.

"You must be tired." I tried to sympathize.

"All in a day's work." He rebutted. "Come on."

We entered the kitchen to find Malcolm hard at work cooking. Cooking! He even had on a blue apron too. It was a sight to behold. The big crazy Alpha slaving away over a stove. I don't know if that's what he did every morning or if he was just doing it because I was here.

He looked over at me, gave me a nod of his head while taking a sipping something in his cup. "Mia. Morning."
