I HAD BEEN cooped up in the house for two days, binge watching TV shows nonstop. I decided to go for a walk this afternoon, to get a feel for the  atmosphere of the place and get some sunlight, and I instantly regretted it. So far everyone I  passed up on the sidewalk would stare after me. And they didn't even  care to hide that they were. Those annoying stares. I wanted to gouge  everyone's eyes out. I felt like I was an alien who crash landed here  and was forced behind a glass wall to be gawked at by everyone. People  turned and stared at me and I didn't know why they were. Maybe because I was new in town? Or did they know about my dad too? He had said the nude run happened once a month. Maybe there were others like him here.

Finally when I got to the park, I noticed it was packed. Families  were gathered and hanging out and enjoying themselves. It was nice to  see the park was being used and not withering away like the ones back  home. People avoided the parks due to fear of getting shot by the gang wars predominately existing there.  So seeing people at the parks was refreshing.

I noticed a bench was vacant and headed over to sit down and rest. I  was glad I had brought my sun glasses with me because the sun was bright  today even for it being winter and all.
I hadn't been there long before I saw someone slowly making their way towards me.

The girl was short and small. Her hair was long and blond, curled and  down. The wind blew it and it covered her face every minute.  She wore  blue jeans, winter boots, and a long sleeve under her vibrant pink  parka.

"You're Noah's daughter," the girl smiled and said upon arriving in front of me.

"Unfortunately," I mumbled under my breath, just as a truck drove by behind her.

"What?" she said.

"Yes," I answered. "I am."

"Welcome to Boise!" She chirped.

"Thanks," I smirked, squinting from the sun.

"Do you like it here?" She asked.

"I haven't been here long enough to decide," I told her.

"Really?" She said stunned. "I knew instantly that I would love it here the minute I passed through those gates."

"Good for you," I said, not really caring.

"Everyone was so nice and inviting," she went on to tell me. "I was scared at first, but they made me feel right at home."

"Well i feel like a freak, if anything," I shared. "Why do they keep staring at me?"

"You're new so they're curious," she said trying to shine some light on the situation.

"Call it what you want," I said, looking around. "All i know, is that i feel uncomfortable."

"You'll learn to ignore it," she said dismissively.

I shrugged, "I guess."

"Has anyone shown you around town yet?" she asked. I shook my head no. "I'll be glad to show you around, if you want."

"Yeah, I'd like that," I smiled. "Maybe tomorrow?"

"Perfect!" she pulled out her cell phone and asked. "What's your number, so i can text you where to meet me."

I  sighed and gave the girl, who's name i didn't even know, my phone  number. While she was entering it in her phone, i looked around to take  in the scenery and two people caught my attention.

Not far  from the bench on the walk path was two men, eagerly discussing  something important while they enjoyed their cup of coffee, it seemed.  The taller one of the two--both men were about six feet or more--was wearing a suit and  a trench coat, he appeared to have arrived at the  park after work or a fancy event. The other one, who was only an inch  shorter, was wearing a comfortable sweater and jeans, paired with work  boots. The pair looked odd together but by the way they spoke to one  another; it was enough to determine that they were possible friends.

I  hadn't meant to stare at them...I couldn't help it. They were so good  looking and it was hard not to look. The shorter one had a smile that  just melted your heart and made it beat a million beats per minute when  it showed, just like it was now.

And then suddenly, while i  continued to stare, the shorter one turned around and looked right at  me. My eyes widened in fear right before i teared my eyes away from him.

Oh my god! I hope he didn't see me. Please. Please. I thought over and over again.

The girls voiced pulled me from my thoughts.

"What?" I said, not having heard her the first time.

"Do you want to go get something eat?" She asked.

"Uh no thanks...." I said feeling the hairs on my back stick up. I felt someone staring at me and i knew it was him.

"Are you okay?" She asked sensing my discomfort.

"No, is he still staring at me?" I whispered.

"Who?" She asked, now alerted.

"The guy on the pathway."

I watched as she turned her head and look for a moment, then begin to smile.

"He's harmless," she informed. "Sweetest guy ever."

I couldn't believe my ears but then again, i was assuming that he was dangerous just because he was staring at me. I turned around to look at him. He was still staring at me and now so was his friend. His friend spoke to him and he nodded; his smile returning on his face again.

"What's his problem?" I said, feeling the chills crawling up my spine again.

"I'm not sure," the girl said looking at the man too. "maybe you remind him of someone."

"Still...it's creepy," I shuddered.

"Just ignore it," she told me.

"I don't feel safe with him staring at me like that," I stood up to leave.

"Oh, don't be silly, he won't harm you. He's a nice guy," she tried to convince me to stay.

"Yeah... I don't even know you, no offense,  so I'm going to go." I turned in a brisk walk towards the house.

Half way home, I turned my head around to look.

He was there, half a football field away, but I could see him even when he ducked behind a tree to hide

He was there, half a football field away, but I could see him even when he ducked behind a tree to hide. He was following me. My flight or fight response kicked in then.

He's following me. Why? Did i somehow offend him by staring at him first? If i did, i guess it was my fault but did he have to follow me? Did he have to...stalk me? I was scared out of my mind.
Yeah îh
I walked as  fast as I could, almost jogging down the road and across the grass. I  had to, no, I needed to get home. I rounded the corner and there was my dads house. I bolted towards it not wasting another minute.
