I WOKE UP and laid there on the bed, eyes closed, afraid to wake up. Afraid to deal with reality. Afraid to know that I was in Alpha Malcolm's house again. I was even more scared of not knowing if I would be able to leave. They had forced me here, had kidnapped me and brought me here.
I wondered if my dad was okay, the last thing I remembered was seeing him being dragged off out of the kitchen by Joseph. Was he still there at home? Or did they take him to Alpha Malcolm's prison too.
Eventually I opened my eyes and saw the ceiling had a fan and the color of the room was a coal gray. It felt really gloomy. I sat upright and looked down at the silky sheets that were on the bed. I never liked silk, I was more a cotton girl. I got out of bed and was quick to try the door to see if I could open it. It was locked from the other side, which didn't surprise me. I went to the glass door that led out to a balcony. I caught my reflection in the glass, my hair was wild and frizzy. I took the hair tie from around my wrist and put my hair in a pony tail. I then placed my hand on the door handle and twisted up, it was locked too.
There was a knock on the door. I sprinted back into bed and pulled the covers over me. I heard the door open and close, then foot steps walking over to the bedside.
"I know you're awake." He said. "I can hear your heart beating."
There was no point in pretending. I sat up and pulled the covers off.
"You're probably wondering how you got here," he began.
"No," I interrupted. "I know exactly how I got here. You kidnapped me!"
"Now, let's not go making any false accusations," he wagged his finger at me, like I was a naughty child that needed to be scolded.
I glared at him. I wished that I had a knife so that I could cut his finger off.
"It's the truth," I stated. "You're a liar... And a poor excuse of an Alpha."
He didn't deserve to be called one, I decided. I would refer to him as plain Malcolm. He was not my Alpha.
Yeah, I said it. And I would say it again. No regrets! I had half expected him to strike me or throw me across the room but he didn't.
He chuckled and walked around to the side of the bed I was sitting and abrudtly grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me to him. "Be careful, Mia, of what you say about me. My pack will think you're being rude and you'll find yourself without a tongue or worse."
"Is that a threat?" I questioned. Our faces only an inch away from one another. I wasn't scared of him.
He only smiled and released me, "You remind me so much of your Aunt. She was like you, was very quick with remarks. Very tenacious, as well ."
