FOURTH DAY.
I felt a bit better today, enough to get out of bed and get dressed to greet the world.
Outside there were many strange faces coming and going, bringing tables and chairs. Everyone was doing their part to help with the Mate Bond Ceremony. That day was slowly approaching.
There was a knock on the door but I stayed where I was, not caring.
"You're up." His voice sent a ping of pain shooting through my heart.
"Can't sleep forever." I sighed turning around to look at him.
"Are you well?" He inquired.
"As well as I can be." I replied.
"Good," he said. "No more nightmares?"
"Not really but..."
"Brought these," he interrupted handing me a good stack of wedding catalogues of dress for me to look through. "Pick one and let Yesenia know."
"Great." I mumbled staring down at the glossy magazine.
"Ceremony will be Friday." He announced.
"And what is today?" I asked, not knowing.
"It's Tuesday." He informed.
I had been away from the world since last Friday. Time passes by no matter who dies, I guess.
"I want to see Annabeth." I told him.
"Well that all depends," he said.
"On?"
"If she wants to see you." He finished.
My shoulders slumped. "Is she mad at me?"
He shrugged. "Not sure. She's been like you, staying in her room. Lucia's been watching Porter for her."
I started to feel guilty again. Annabeth had been very close to Brian and Porter...I wondered if he even understood that his Uncle was really gone.
"Don't." He said instantly, knowing how I was feeling. He must have felt my mood change with his heightened senses.
"What?"
"Don't start being guilty and crying again," he said. "No more. I can't deal with anymore wallowing"
"Sorry I'm not as emotionally inept as you." I turned back around to face the window.
