I WASN'T SURE how long I had been lying on the floor staring at nothing

I WASN'T SURE how long I had been lying on the floor staring at nothing. I was fully awake but still  paralyzed. My body felt weak and drained. I couldn't move. I laid there staring across the floor at the place where the creatures had been. There was nothing there now. It had all been in my head.

What's happening to me? Am I going crazy? I wondered.

No, not crazy, my wolfs voice appeared. As I grow and get stronger, you get weaker. Your body will start deteriorating.

This is what I most feared. My body was slowly dying. I was slowly dying and I felt like there was nothing I could do.

Why? I asked.

Because of your mothers foolishness. You were a gift by the Moon Goddess Diana and your mother tried to correct the 'wrong' in you. The Healer who helped bind me to the dark put a curse on you without your mother knowing. Even after you blood bonded with Brian, the curse still grows. Diana is still angry. She explained.

But that's not my fault.

You are your mothers daughter, her sins are yours. Once I'm strong enough...I'll gain control of your body permanently and you will cease to exist. She further informed.

That's not fair. Why can't we exist together? Like it was supposed to be. I tried to reason.

Life is never fair. Your body is too weak to handle both of us together. Only one of us can be.

Well don't expect me to give up without a fight. I've been alive in this body for fifteen, going on sixteen years. It's mine! I declared.

I wouldn't expect anything else. I know and I've been suffering in the dark. It's yours  for now...

The door opened and I heard a pair of feet shuffling across the room towards me.

Gotta run...My wolf's voice disappeared, hiding again from all the wolf kinds here. She didn't want to be discovered and I didn't mind people not knowing either. That was the only thing we could agree on.

A pair of feet stopped in front of me. I watched the knees bend and then his face came into view.

"Mia what are you doing down there?" Joseph  asked looking down at me.

I stared up at him, relieved. I tried my arms and found that they were mobile again. I reached up to him and he grabbed me up and stood me back on my feet. I tried to stand on my own but wobbled and he swiftly caught me.
