"I'LL BE QUICK ," I said, moving to exit the car. I didn't want to have him wait long.

"Alright, I'll be here." He switched off the engine.

I turned around and walked up the driveway, down the walkway, and to the door. I pushed the doorbell and waited.

The door clicked open and then swung inward. There was Hermia, in a t-shirt and sweat pants.

"O.M.G! You're alive!" Hermia threw her arms around me when she opened the door and saw that it was me. "I was so worried when you didn't call me back..."

She pulled away and looked at me. "Why didn't you call me back?"

"I can say the same to you. In fact, I can even ask, where you disappeared to? Why didn't you tell me you left or that you were leaving?" I demanded.

I was still mad at her for ditching me. We had promised her mom that we would stick together. Buddy system, to keep each other safe. And what happened when we got there? She left my side and left the party.

"Dean's brother showed up and i couldn't say no to him." She began.

"Couldn't or didn't want to? There's a difference." I crossed my arms.

"Dean pulled me with him into his brothers car and i didn't have time to react." She explained.

"And where did you go?"

"Some senior party," she replied with a shrug.

"And you didn't think to call once you got there?"

"I wasn't thinking straight," she admitted. "I'm shitty friend and I'm sorry Mia."

"Not good enough," I told her.

"Mia," she whined. "I'm soooooo sorry."

I shook my head no. She wasn't going to be forgiven that easily this time.

"If it makes you feel any better," she began. "I got grounded for two months."

I couldn't lie, that did make me feel a little better.

"Serves you right," I smirked.

"Well the cosmos aligned and decided that I needed punishing," she laughed, stepping aside and waving for me to come inside.

"Where are your parents?" I wondered. I didn't see their car in the driveway.

"Not home," she said. "Which is a good thing, because I'm not allowed to have anyone over."

"Oh, well I won't be long," I told her. "I'm here to get my overnight bag."

"Oh okay." She said bummed out.

"So I should hurry up and get my bag before they get back," I said hurriedly, heading for her bedroom. I could hear her following after me.

"Did sparks fly with you Blake?" She asked.
