Virginie's Point Of View

September 26th

Once the boys left for their soundcheck and the meet and greet, Sophia showed me around backstage, introduced me to the crew and I got to meet Lou, their hairdresser and close friend, again. She offered me to do a little something in my hair and I didn't refuse.

I asked a lot of questions about the boys, like who is the messiest, who takes the more time to get ready, who complains more,... It was really fun. She got my hair to wave in a beautiful early XXth century style. It is really beautiful and so much better than my "I woke up like this" hair, because I really did wake up like this.

We then got to the stage and it was huge, there were so many seats. We unfortunately had to leave quickly because the fans where getting in already.

For now, Sophia and I wait backstage as the guys are coming to the stage from behind the main screen. I get chills running all over my body as the show begins. The screams are loud and piercing as the boys show themselves. The music starts and the show begins. It is exactly like it was back in Montreal. Their set list may have changed a bit, but they are so full of energy it's contagious.

It doesn't get too far into the show and the boys are already throwing water at each other and at the fans. Louis is targeting Harold with his water gun. He looks so surprised, it's so funny to watch. I can't help myself but to laugh. He runs to the nearest bottle of water and throws its content around. For now, it's contained and the boys are just having fun. But What Makes You Beautiful comes on and for the bridge they regroup at the center of the stage and my man gets soaked. The three boys, behind him, empty their bottles on him. He's not even able to finish his chorus right, he's bent over to not drop water on his microphone.

The song finishes and he runs to me. What the hell is he doing?! Why is he coming this way? He has the biggest smile on his face. I feel myself melting at this sight of him. What is he up to?

"What are you doing!?" I yell at him as the crowd screams the end of the song and Louis speaks out.

He comes to me, take my face between his wet palms and kisses me hard. Water from his wet hair is now dripping over my school sweater. I'm quite shocked as his lips leaves mine. He laughs.

"I wanted to say that you look beautiful! But I also want some more bottle of water, can you please run to the room where we had dinner and bring some back?" He says in my ear.

I blush and I nod. He kisses me once more and goes back on stage. For a moment, I stay there, my feet stuck to the ground, completely oblivious to the fact that Sophia still stands next to me. I blush even more and try not to look at her, so once the next song starts I run into the maze of corridors. It takes me quite some time to get there, but at least I did not get lost, like it's usually my habit. I take half a dozen of water bottles and hold them close to me on my wet sweater. I run backstage just in time for the song to finish.

Harold comes to me running yet again. Spontaneity takes over my body as I open one of them and get ready to throw it at him. When he's close enough, I drop the other bottles on the ground and empty the bottle on his completely soaking body. He freezes his arms wide open. He slowly lifts up his head to look at me. I laugh at his embarrassment as he runs at me picking a bottle on his way to me with a big grin on his face. Oh no no, that doesn't look good for me! I step back, but he quickly grabs me and empties the bottle on my head. I'm now as soaking wet as him. I laugh against Harold's chest still giggling and see Sophia sharing our joy.

"Where the bloody hell is Harry?" Liam says into his microphone.

He kisses me quickly, steps away and runs back to the bottles on the ground, grabs them to join the boys.

"What is so interesting backstage?" Shouts Louis before being splashed by Harry's surprise.

"Surprise!" Harry yells before shaking his hair like a wet dog.

The crowd goes crazy and I burst out laughing. I think I've never laugh that much in my life, it feels good and liberating. It feels amazingly surreal.

These last five minutes made me happier than any Christmas I've ever celebrated. I take a moment to enjoy everything I'm feeling when Sophia takes my arm and holds tightly my hand for a second. She approaches her lips to my ear and say loud enough for me to hear.

"Welcome to the family!"
