Cindy's Point Of View
February 1st
It has been a few days since my brother knocked the shit out of Harry. We had a long talk that day and it was surprising for me. I did not only learn things from him but I also felt that it was a necessity for him to let out what he felt about the last semester and the departure of Virginie in her home country.
It's weird to think that a foreign girl we met four months ago brought me and my brother closer, but she really did. Not that we weren't, we like different things and minded our own businesses. My brother was never one to talk to me about girls either, not like he did a few days ago. Well, my brother has always been too books and studies absorbed to ever care about girls. My brother used to always hide in his room and study all the time. He was very introverted and didn't really bring any friends home. I'm the one that always tried to take him out. At least now, he wants to join me.
When we were seniors, I remember my friend crushing on him and I made sure that she came quite often at home for them to be closer. Unfortunately for her, he was all about his books and really nerdy, he never noticed her until I literally told him she had a thing for him. Her name was Stacy and she was really kind, like a kid on Christmas Eve kind. That's why it didn't bother me that one of my closest friends crushed on my bro. They were together for three months until she told him she loved him and that he wasn't loving her back. He was quite stressed about it. I remember him not knowing what to do, but apart from that, I know nothing about what happened. We never really talked about it. We never talked like we did this week.
That I know of, that was the only relationship he has ever been in. But then again, my brother and I never talked about it. It was like I knew about him like we look through the window. I knew him, but only from afar. I never got to know what was really going through his mind like I do now. It's like Virginie awoke him. That's what I personally think, because since she was into the same things as him, he seemed to have connected with her. I have never seen him like that with any girl.
I remember Ma and Pa eyeing me and asking all about her the first time she came home. It was actually really weird for us all because Matt brought three girls home that night. Plus, they all slept here. There were major 'what the fuck's going through our heads. It was seriously hilarious. I didn't get to know the other two as much, I don't even remember their names.
Long story short, I discovered a new side of Matty. I completely adore him. I have always been a bit crazy, but now he is too. It's like he learned to let go. He lets go of himself, he seems free and a lot happier.
Look at us now, living life at the fullest, twinly love at its best, drinking beer and watching the sun set in a pub in Camden. He bought me tickets to a show at the Roundhouse so I plan on getting my bro a bit tipsy before we get there.
We've each drank three pints of beer before I ordered some shots of tequila. Thank God we are taking the undergrounds to get home, because I plan on getting him tanked up.
"We still need to be able to walk to the Roundhouse." He smiles at me, emptying his glass of beer as he sees the waiter coming with the shots I asked him.
"Hush now! The show only starts in an hour, we've got plenty of time to get there. And the alcohol costs too much there, so why not drink here instead? Besides, everything will be alright." I smile and take a shooter in my fingers to invite him to do the same. I never leave his eyes from mine to challenge him. He is my brother after all, I know how to trick him.
"Only one and it's because it's for your early birthday." He winks at me and drinks the shooter before I do.
"Oh come on Matty! Like you said, for my birthday, which is at the same time as yours, smart arse. So drink up." I say way too loudly, once we put down our glasses and look at him wincing in disgust, for the proximity the tables in the pub has.
