Virginie's Point Of View
November 12th
I log my laptop on the BBC Radio 1 website. I'm ready to hear the boys interview. I don't know why I feel so stressed. Harry dressed so good today. He wore this blue shirt with stars on it. It was hard to let him go this morning.
The boys have a short interview with Greg James before their Live Lounge and I literally can't wait. They will sing four of their songs and two covers. I've been begging Harry to sing Torn, the first song they ever sang together. On Twitter, the fans are going crazy about it. A lot of us are hoping that they'll sing it. I guess I will find out in a bit. Harry is not speaking at all during the interview, to rest his voice for the Live Lounge.
We get to see the Live Lounge live on the BBC Radio 1's website and I'm super happy to see the boys performing together again. They introduce Drag Me Down and the music starts. Harry is the first to sing and I get very stressed. His voice his low and quiet. I see how hard he struggles, but he is doing good nonetheless. Hearing him pushing his voice to its limit for his high notes at the end is heart breaking.
The boys then sing Perfect, Story Of My Life, before doing a cover of the Paul McCartney, Rihanna and Kanye West's song FourFiveSeconds, which they really nail. They sing Infinity and it gets me tearing up a bit. Not only is the song really beautiful and heart whelming, but Harry's breaking voice adds truthfulness and beauty to it. It's definitely hard to watch him struggle like that.
They get to the last song and they don't even begin to sing that my sweet cries change into sobs. Torn. Their voices have changed so much. It has been five years. I am an emotional wreck by the end of the song. It was simply beautiful.
When they are off the air, I go to YouTube to watch both of their performance of Torn on The X Factor in 2010. It's heartbreaking yet again. Overall, I kill time online until Harry comes back. I've made all of my homework today while Harry was out, so now I'm bored. I'm all alone in his big house and I don't know what to do. I would write, but for once, I've let my journals at the dorm. I get up and spontaneously decide to clean up the house. I connect my iPod with his stereo and let the music play randomly loudly in the speakers. I start by cleaning up the living room, since we are always in it and it has gotten pretty messy. There are blankets and pillows everywhere, the Monopoly box is on the ground. I, then, move on to the kitchen, always singing along, emptying the dishwasher, cleaning the counters. To finally get upstairs. I take out the sheets of the bed to wash them in the washroom downstairs when What Makes You Beautiful comes on.
I hadn't realised how loud I was singing while doing the laundry until Harry surprises me at the door. I jump so high, he frightened me. He smiles brightly with his beautiful dimples. I end my task and walk to him to hug his body tightly.
"What were you doing?" He whispers caressing my hair.
"Laundry, a bit of cleaning... I watched the Live Lounge..." I say my head against his chest.
"Mmhmm?!"
"It was wonderful! Thank you for Torn!"
"Well, it has been a general demand." He laughs kissing the top of my head.
"It was hilarious when you said 'the universe is expanding' on the radio." I recall the interview the boys did before singing.
"Just for you, babe."
"How are you?" I step back to look at him.
"I'm alright... I obviously wanted to be at my best, but it was better than at rehearsal..." He looks down obviously disappointed.
