Virginie's Point Of View
October 3rd
We are on our way to Manchester for the boys' show. Anne and Robin will join us later to watch it with me. For now, it's Harold and I for an hour-long drive.
"So tell me, what are the boys doing today?" I ask him as I entwine our finger together.
"Louis texted me, he is at the football game and Niall is resting. He has the flu." He says looking at the road since it's beginning to rain.
"Poor Niall, will he be OK tonight?" I ask caring about his health.
"Oh yeah, it's just the flu... I mean the man is a beast. He did shows with injuries far worst than the flu." He laughs.
"That's what is sad... He hasn't the time to recover properly..."
"It's part of the job... It would be selfish of us to cancel a show and disappoint thousands upon thousands of people. We're very lucky it hadn't happened to us at this point." He says proudly.
"But what will it take? You've really gone through everything! Niall's broken knee and foot, lots of flus, your missing voice, but mainly Zayn leaving..." I say but immediately regret it.
"I don't know... But what I know is that it only made us stronger... Wait? How do you know about all those things?" He looks at me curious.
"It's my family, they're called Directioners!" I joke laughing at him. "I was wandering on Internet the other day, wasting time really... I guess I missed you and saw a video on YouTube of the show where you did not sing at all. It was so cute, you were dancing like crazy and the fans were singing your parts. It was lovely, totally charming..."
He laughs looking back at the road.
"So where are we heading?" I ask wanting to change the subject.
"The hotel!" He says winking at me. "We'll get to hang there a little before we group and leave for the arena."
"Who we'll be there? Will Sophia be there?" I ask.
"To the show? My Mum and Robin will be there, my Dad too and I think Liam's Dad too, but I'm not sure..."
"Wait... I'll meet your father too?" I ask getting all nervous.
He nods and smiles at me.
"Oh God..." I whisper to myself turning away to look at the rain outside. "Do you think we could stop at a market or a store before we arrive?"
"We could, why? Which one?" He asks.
"Anything really, a mall could do it... It won't be long, it's a surprise!" I say happily.
He, later on, parks at a mall and looks at me. I smile at him before leaving the car.
"You can come with me if you want... Or stay in the car if you don't want to be recognize... But I promise you it won't be long!"
He looks at me for long seconds and comes with me taking pairs of sunglasses. We get out and he hands me mine. We get wet by the rain and I can't help but to laugh as we run to the doors.
"Why are you laughing?" He asks me laughing too.
"I love rain!" I answer giggling.
We get inside and look at the stores around us. I wanted to stop to buy a little something for Niall since he's so sick, but I can't buy him a surprise without thinking about the others. It's going to be harder than I thought. We walk a bit and our hands touch a few times. I don't want to take his hand in public if he's not comfortable with it, so I let him do the moves. So we walk until I see what looks like a bakery with chocolates and stuff. I stop and buy a box full of pastries of my choosing. I pick waffles, banana bread, some homemade chocolates and little cakes of some sort. I hope he'll like it.
