Chapter 20:Conflict

Lilith would walk towards Brooklyn growling when she reached she stood face to face....well face to chest since Brooklyn was taller than her. Lilith began to float up to make eye contact. "You're going to let go of Nitro now."

"Why?" Brooklyn would grab her pole. "This is my gift for obeying Maria for so many years. The gods have given back to me what I lost. Wait. You must be Lilith. Master Maria does want you dead. I'll do that for her here and now." She'd have several hands grab and restrain Nitro before returning her focus to Lilith.

Lilith would drop down landing on her feet. Before lifting Brooklyn up and tossing her at the wall. She'd cross her arms. "Not as tough as I thought"

Brooklyn would slam into the wall before stepping forward she'd send several metal shards at Lilith.

Lilith would begin to leap around doing her best to make sure she dodges since she and everyone else were still in their bathing suits. Lilith would stop some of the shards and toss them at the wall.

Brooklyn would leap up into the air and thrust her pole downwards. As Lilith dodged the pole would slam into the ground. She'd grab and use the pole to
spin and slam both feet into Lilith's stomach.

Lilith would slide back before slowly coming to a stop she'd clench her fist causing the ground to rise up and form a wall.

Not wishing to loose momentum with her attacks she'd run forward leaping into the air and slamming through the wall slamming her pole into Lilith's head. When she'd land she'd land she'd spin in a circle slamming the pole into her stomach. "Weak." She'd push the pole forward and using it as a bat to fling Lilith into the ceiling sending her to the next floor.

Lilith would spin out of control before regaining control. She'd aim her hand forward causing several walls to collapse around Brooklyn. She'd begin to pant heavily. This is bad.

Dropping down from above her Brooklyn would slam both feet into Lilith's back. When she'd hit the ground Brooklyn would grab Lilith and lift her up. She'd slam Lilith into the wall before starting to run dragging her through the wall. She'd stop before spinning and throwing her. "There." She'd step forward coughing out a small amount of blood. Dammit. Not now.

Lilith would slam into the ground slowly sliding to a stop. "Dammit." She'd stand up noticing Brooklyn was running forward again. She'd begin to leap around avoiding the onslaught of attacks. She'd suddenly notice something extremely odd. Brooklyn was gradually slowing down. There must be an explanation for this. She thought to herself. She was able to dodge some of the attacks but was still taking some of them.

Brooklyn would swing her pole upwards into Lilith's chin knocking her into the air before she'd crash down. Brooklyn would cough out more blood onto the ground using her pole to keep herself standing. "I just have to kill you...." She'd take several steps forward before dropping to her knees. "No...Not....now."

Nitro would slowly break free of the hands before leaping through the hole to find the other two. "Lilith what happened?"

Lilith would stare in shock. "I think I know. Most Dotato are born with bodies stable enough to handle the amount of power they can output. Your friend here is different. She can output more power than her body can handle."

Adalina would slowly float up holding Brooklyn's metal boots and armbands. "Then these must be her limiters."

"Then will she die?" Nitro said lifting up Brooklyn.

"No." Lilith shook her head reattaching Brooklyn's gear.

"Is that why you didn't come with me back then?"

Brooklyn would nod coughing again. "Yes."

  Sixteen Years Ago

As she pushed Nitro down the hill Brooklyn collapsed staring into the sky.
"Good luck....Nitro." Several hooded people would find Brooklyn and lift her up before walking off.

When the bring her to the lab they'd place her in a pod and fill it with a strange liquid.

A younger woman would walk into the lab as the people would bow. "Master Maria"

Maria would glance at the pod. "Well? will she survive?"

The first person would nod. "Yes, but she will have to wear limiters. If she takes them off and uses her full power I give her about thirty minutes to live."

When the people removed Brooklyn and dressed her with her new clothes Maria walked towards her.

"Hmm. Why did you try to escape?" She stared crossing her arms.

"Because this is wrong. I don't care if I'm the only one who stayed. If Nitro escaped I'm happy."

"Hmm? You care a lot for that 'Nitro' I'll make a deal. If you obey and work with me when my goal is complete I'll set you free to find this 'Nitro' how does that sound?"

Brooklyn would widen her eyes before nodding. "Yes!"

Present

"That's how it happened." Brooklyn would cough out again. "I'm sorry Nitro."

"It's fine." Nitro would set her down before hearing a loud slow clapping.

Maria would slowly walk in. "Oh Brooklyn. So strong yet so weak willed."

"Maria." Lilith stood up before dropping down and clenching her side.
"Ah..."

Nitro would step forward growling as his markings appeared. "Don't worry. You three can just sit back." He'd turn to Maria with a look of pure rage. "I'll handle this."

Maria would smirk widely as sand would slowly surround her. "Alright kid. Lets see if you can keep up with me."
