Chapter 49

As they day went out everyone noticed two things coming back. One was in the air and another was swimming through the water. It was Leonidas and Kagura.

As Leonidas stepped onto the shore he was dragging something behind him. It was a giant tooth. "I took that was a trophy."

Everyone stared in complete shock not saying anything.

"Uhm. Leonidas where exactly are you going to put that?" Ember stared tilting her head.

"I'll figure something out. I just have to remember to bring it." Leonidas would say patting the tooth which was slightly shorter than him.

The other half of the group would have been in the water swimming. Except for Nitro who would float above the water using his abilities.

"Nitro." Brooklyn looked up at him. "The duck is still an option."

"I don't want the duck!" Nitro responded quickly.

"Just take a duck boy!" Erick would call out.

Lilith would smirk pointing her finger at Nitro before pointing downwards dragging him into the water with her ability.

Once again Nitro would scream and flail loudly in the water splashing as he would fall and rise above the surface of the water.

Maci would watch giggling slightly. "Oh. That is pretty funny."

Brooklyn would grab Nitro and lift him up with extreme ease. "Someone hand me the duck!" She'd smirk.

Nitro would cough out water as he caught the duck life preserver Erick through and used it to float. "Not one word!" He'd look around at everyone.

Brooklyn would begin to pet him. "It's ok. You'll learn to swim eventually."

"Or just drown!" Erick would call out again swimming off.

Nitro would begin to awkwardly kick in the water barely moving.

Adalina would watch shaking her head and sighing. "At this point it's just painful to watch."

Rex would have been recording the whole thing on his Avancer. "Painful and hilarious."

Lilith would point her finger at Nitro and begin to move him forward. "There you go."

Nitro would sigh. "Thanks Lilith."

"You better say thank you." She responded. "Or else I'd start drowning you again."

"Aaaaaand done." Rex would tap his wrist stopping the recording. "One day we're gonna look back on this and laugh."

"One day Nitro's gonna need to swim to escape none of us will be there to help and he won't have the duck." Adalina glanced towards Rex.

"Shut up!" Nitro yelled continuing to float before suddenly being dragged under the water.

Everyone would look around before Brooklyn spoke. "Erick's missing."

Erick came out of the water laughing loudly. "Oh that was funny. He kicked a lot. Hey where is he?" He looked at the duck which was floating by itself.

Everyone who was laughing at the joke would slowly stop realizing Nitro wasn't on the duck.

".....Oh right. He can't swim." Lilith would look down at the water. ".....So who wants to get him?"

Everyone would look around at each other remaining silent.

"Don't all jump at once." Lilith would stare.

"I got it." Brooklyn would swim beneath the water before swimming back to the shore with Nitro. She'd lightly kick his side. "Yo. Wake up."

Nitro would remain still.

".....Hm." Brooklyn would slam her fist into Nitro's stomach causing him to cough out water.

Nitro would grab his stomach. "You didn't have to do....what did you even do?!"

"Oh. I punched you." Brooklyn answered blankly.

"You punched me?!" Nitro would question. "Why?!"

"Oh. You weren't breathing." Brooklyn would cross her arms. "You should be thanking me."

"Do you know what CPR is?" Nitro would let go of his stomach.

"That still isn't a thank you." Brooklyn would walk off.

"Damn." Leonidas would comment having watched the whole thing. "I saw Erick go under but decided not to yell."

After everyone left and the Griffe members flew back on the flying manta Lilith opened a message and began to read.

"Oh. We got a job." She'd continue reading. "Basically bad stuff is happened and apparently they need all of us to fix it. So everyone get a good rest we leave tomorrow!"
