Chapter 106

Nitro and Brooklyn sat at the shore of the island. Brooklyn would sit up and turned to Nitro. "Nitro can I ask a question?"

"What is it?" Nitro responded as he turned to her.

"Well...you told me you and Erick used to live together right?" The white haired woman paused for a second. "How did you two end up with that arrangement?"

"Oh that?" Nitro leaned back and laid on the floor staring at the sky. "Well...it wasn't anything special."

Five Years Earlier

A younger Nitro and Erick both sat in a bar setting down a briefcase full of crown. The two were completely covered in bandages and their eyes lit up with excitement as they stared at the money.

"So we got about 200,000 Crown from this job right?" Nitro shut the briefcase and turned to Erick.

"Yeah." Erick nodded. "So what are we gonna do with this?"

"Well first." Nitro began to speak. "We're going to pay the medical bill we owe." Nitro gestured to their bandages.

"And then?" Erick leaned back in his chair stretching.

"We're going to get an apartment in Star City so we can stop camping out in the street like we're homeless." Nitro began to do some math in his head. "This should be able to keep us there for a few months but we'll still need to take jobs to keep ourselves there. So I guess from now on we're partners." Nitro put his hand out for a shake.

Erick nodded as he shook Nitro's hand.

Present

Brooklyn nodded her head as Nitro finished the story. "Oh. That makes sense then...wait where does Leonidas come in then?"

"Well." Nitro began to speak. "Leonidas lived with us....kind of...but...not really."

Four Years Earlier

A year after they agreed to become partners while they were asleep Nitro and Erick heard a knock on the door.

"Huh?" Nitro sat up and began to rub his eyes while he walked to the door. "Did you order something?"

Erick remained silent as he continued to sleep.

Nitro shook his head and opened the door to see Leonidas standing there. "Huh? Leo why are you? Wait how did you even know we live here?"

Leonidas began to tap his Avancer and pulled up both Nitro and Erick's profiles. "Your address is right here."

"....Dammit." Nitro turned to Erick's direction. "I'm gonna have to take that off my profile then. So wait why are you here?"

Leonidas stepped forward into the house past Nitro. "Well right now I just need a place to stay and Taiga is gone so I'll stay here."

"...For how long?" Nitro watched him walk inside.

"Until I have my own place." Leonidas shrugged as he sat on the couch.

Present

"I think I get it now." Brooklyn nodded.
"So did he just pop in and out randomly?"
