"Are you really sending us on a mission ALREADY?!" Night Owl asked in disbelief.
"COVERT mission, but yes. It's great for experience for you six." Batman answered.
"This is gonna be awesome!" Soaren beamed as she grabbed Jet's arm.
"Yeah...sure." Jet muttered.
"Since this is your first covert op, I'm sending Nightwing and Batgirl along. You must do as they command." Batman ordered.
"If something were to happen, then what do we do?" Alacrity asked, a hint of worry in her voice.
"That's why Nightwing and Batgirl are going with you." Batman answered nonchalantly, "of course, nothing bad is supposed to happen."
"Why? Where are we going?" Ally asked sounding excited.
"Arkham Asylum."
There was a moment of silence, then nervous chuckles.
"Ha, ha, you're funny...Arkham Asylum? Ha ha..." Speedy chuckled nervously, "you can't be serious...we're new, and we're going to do a covert op at Arkham Asylum?! Are you nuts?!"
"If I were, I wouldn't be here, I'd be there. And no. I'm not. You six will be tested to see if you will be able to hold up in these types of missions. Of course, you will be faced with worse, but this is just for beginners." Batman said.
"'Beginners'?! We're going to the place where your worst villains are kept! Even Joker!" Night Owl protested.
"Both Nightwing and Batgirl will be there. You'll all be fine." Batman said as he turned and walked through one of the Zeta tubes, "you leave in five minutes. Do not mess this up." and he disappeared to the Watchtower.
The group of six teens looked at each other.
"Is it too late to back out now?" Soaren asked.
"No! We wanted to be on this team! We're going to stay and do as Batman says!" Batgirl said.
"Agreed." Jet said, arms crossed.
"But this is Arkham Asylum!!" Night Owl said.
"So what?" Alacrity asked.
"'So what'?! If we fail this mission, we could get captured, tortured, even killed!" Speedy said.
"And we'll die for the team. Who knows? Maybe we can get our own memorials on the Watchtower?" Batgirl smirked.
"Besides, Nightwing and Batgirl will be there. They won't let that happen. They can't." Alacrity added, and Jet just nodded in response.
"Ready to go?" Nightwing asked as he and Batgirl walked in.
"For months." Night Owl said, a hint of both confidence and nervousness in her voice.
"Great! This way to the Bioship." Batgirl said as she lead the new kids to the docking bay where the Bioship sat in waiting.
"This is so...crash!!" Alacrity bubbled.
"Glad you're excited!" Nightwing laughed.
"Just promise me no one dies on this mission..." Speedy said.
"Promise." Batgirl smiled as they boarded the Bioship and left, headed for Arkham Asylum.

"Okay. Nightwing will lead Batgirl, Speedy, and Soaren to the west wing. I'll take Jet, Night Owl, and Alacrity. We'll take the east wing." Batgirl instructed. They all nodded as they crouched behind a few bushes. Soaren looked a little uncertain. She looked at Jet, and he sent her a look that no one but Soaren could read. Then he gave a little nod, and she nodded in response.
"Good. Move out." Nightwing said. As he got up, Batgirl put out her hand on his,
"Careful." She warned.
"Of course." Nightwing sent her a reassuring smile, and he took his three and they headed west of Arkham Asylum.
"So...you two are dating?" Alacrity asked.
"Yeah." Batgirl answered.
"You two are a cute couple." Night Owl smiled.
"Oh, well, thanks." Batgirl smiled.
"Gee, you don't talk much do you?" Alacrity asked as she turned to Jet.
"No." Jet barely even said.
"Tell us about yourself." Alacrity said, "I can start. My real name is Christine Hughes, and I'm 16." Then she turned to Night Owl and gave her a nudge.
"Oh. My name is Olivine Lance. I'm 15." Night Owl introduced herself. They all watched Jet expectantly.
"Alex. Alex Hall. I'm 14." Jet said.
"Wow...the longest sentence we've gotten out of him today..." Alacrity smirked, earning her a silent giggle from Night Owl.
"Ssh..." Batgirl silenced them, "Nightwing and the others are in place. We're going in."
