"This guy's good..." Bette said on the comm as she typed rapidly on her wrist holocomputer, "he was able to bypass all security breaches AND turn off the motion sensors. Not only did he do that, he locked out all other access points, so I can't turn on the sensors, open up locks, nothing. He's a really good hacker... How's M'gann doing?"

"She's still unconscious, but her pulse is stable." Olivine answered.

"Good. Let's hope he doesn't reach you guys..." Bette muttered under her breath as she started running down the halls.

"Bette, we're more worried about putting you up against him on your own." Alex said.

"Well, don't worry. It was my choice, and I've got this." Bette said as she found herself in the training room. She looked around, and someone suddenly wrapped their arm around her neck, sucking the breath out of her lungs.

"No way you're getting out of this one..." Red X whispered, ready to break her neck.

"We need to make sure she stays hydrated. We need to get some fluids into her." Olivine said as she started giving M'gann an IV. Alex watched her carefully, then realized he was holding his breath after he let out an exhale when she finished.

"Wow, you're pretty good at this aren't you?" Alex smirked.

"I mean, yeah." Olivine blushed, "my aunt made sure I knew everything I needed to know about the medical field if I wanted to join the team. Of course, it wasn't required, but my aunt made me anyways. I was pissed when she told me all those books weren't required, though."

"But looking at what you're doing right now, it seemed pretty worth it." Alex gestured to M'gann.

"Yeah, I don't know. It's nothing. It's just an IV." Olivine shrugged.

"'Just an IV'?! I have no idea how to do this stuff, and Bette is occupied right now. If it hadn't been for you, I don't know. She probably wouldn't be in such good condition."

Olivine chuckled and turned to M'gann, then back up to Alex, "thanks. It really means a lot...but I'm just really amazed by your strength and skills...and bravery. It really takes guts to be out there in the field. Sometimes I just have the thought that...I don't know. What if we don't make it back?"

"Well, that's one of the two things that drives me every day." Alex chuckled and smiled, "just the thought that I may not come back home alive. That tells me that I have to give it all I got every single mission."

"You say that's ONE of the things that drives you to do well?" Olivine asked, and Alex nodded, "what's the other?"

Alex looked down at the ground, and she saw his face turn pink, "I don't know...some girl on the team that I just tell myself I just HAVE to impress her..."

"Really? I have that same feeling sometimes..." Olivine's voice trailed off when she felt Alex watching her, "m-me?!"

"Y-yeah..." Alex looked away. She felt his hand reach for hers, and she gave in. She let his fingers entwine in hers, and they started to lean in, until the jerk from Miss Martian waking up snapped them back to reality.

"M'gann?" Olivine asked as they quickly averted their attention to the Martian.

"Wh-what's going on?!" M'gann asked.

"We can explain later. Right now, we need to find a way out for you." Alex said.

"Where's Bette?" M'gann asked, and Alex and Olivine just looked at each other.

"This is pathetic..." Red X said as he threw Bette to the side. She shouted out when she hit cabinet full of weapons. She peeked into one of the drawers and pulled out the first weapon she saw: electric bolas.

"Oh, so we're going to play it that way, aren't we?" Red X chuckled as he got out a bowstaff.

"We are." Bette said and ran up to him, throwing the bolas around him, then hitting him in the head with them. Red X tried to hit her with the bowstaff, but she hit it out of the way, and instead, she wrapped the bola's string around his staff and she pressed a button on the hand-holds, sending electric pulses from the bolas to Red X. A few seconds later, she released him, and he fell to the ground panting.

"It's over." Bette said, "just take off your mask and reveal yourself."

"Oh trust me. You know me more than you think you do." Red X said, threw a smoke bomb down, and he disappeared before her eyes. Bette looked around, groaned, and turned on her comm.

"Alex? Olivine? How's M'gann?" Bette asked, but no one responded, "Alex?! Olivine?!" She knew something was wrong. So she ran out and got to the mission briefing room as fast as she could. But when she got there, she saw both Olivine and Alex were unconscious and bruised, but M'gann wasn't there.

"Damn..." Bette muttered. She ran over to the two and checked their pulses, then she spotted words on the ground, written in blood: See ya on the other side, Bette.
