Episode/Chapter 3 - Cupid's Day

"February 14, Baby! Today's--"

"HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!" Bart interrupted Jaime's sentence as he ran into the living room that morning.

"Dude, slow down." Tim said as Bart flopped down on the couch next to him, and he started flipping through the morning channels.

"Did you guys get your girls anything?" Bart asked.

"Yep. Two tickets to a movie premiere." Jaime said, sounding extremely impressed with himself.

"Ah. How 'bout you?" Bart turned to Tim.

"A day of shopping. Something we agreed on. I get to buy her anything she wants on both Valentine's Day and her birthday. Yay me." Tim smirked.

"That's great! For her, I mean." Bart said, and Tim just rolled his eyes in response.

"So how about you?" Jaime asked as he sat down on the couch next to the one Bart and Tim were sitting on.

"What do you mean? I don't have anyone."

"Oh really?! Then who's that Alacrity girl, hm?" Tim asked.

"She and I are just friends." Bart protested.

"Oh, but I'm sure you wish you were more." Jaime smiled.

"Do not!" Suddenly, someone ran in, did a flip over the couch that Bart and Tim were sitting on, then landed expertly on the couch right next to Tim.

"Happy Valentine's Day." Stephanie smiled as she wrapped her arms around him, "when are we going? I hear there's a sale at Victoria's Secret." Jaime and Bart looked at Tim with wide eyes.

"We can leave right away." Tim answered as he gave her a kiss, then they both got up and left.

"Wow, he's good." Bart said.

"Yeah, Hermano. That kid's been off and on with this girl. I'm pretty sure he'd know what to do." Jaime added. Then they heard screaming. They both turned to find Artemis with Wally.

"You're kidding!" Artemis beamed, Jaime and Bart let out a sigh of relief knowing that no one was dying.

"Nuh-uh! I'm serious!" Wally smiled, "I'm the man! Of course I would get it." Wally held out a small box. Artemis covered her mouth as she took the box and opened it.

"Is that--?!" Jaime gasped.

"Is it the one we wanted?" Artemis asked.

"Sure is!" Wally laughed. Artemis shrieked in excitement and wrapped her arms tightly around him.

"Oh, I thought that was a ring." Bart sighed.

"Same." Jaime responded, "so, a new house?"

"Yes!! And it's the one we've been wanting so badly!" Artemis beamed as she showed them the key in the box that Wally had given her.

"This calls for a celebration!" Bart cheered as he stood up quickly, then they heard the Cave's PA system turn on, "Team, alert. Report to mission room. Briefing in five." Nightwing announced.

"Well, looks like their little love-fest will have to continue later." Jaime said as Bart sped off.

"Metropolis. There's a new villain breaking into jewelry stores." Nightwing said as he read the report he got from Batman on his wrist hologram.

"Then where's Superman if this is an ordinary jewelry robbery?" Superboy asked.

"Not sure, but Batman is calling the team in on this one." Nightwing answered as he shut off his hologram, then he scanned the members before him, "we're sending out Superboy, Artemis, Kid Flash, Impulse, Miss Martian, and Blue Beetle. Miss Martian is the team leader. Take the Bioship and head out." They all nodded and headed out immediately. 

Then ten minutes after they left, Nightwing got a sudden alert, and as soon as Nightwing read the words, he gasped. It was as to why Superman can't take care of the problem, but it was already too late. He had already sent the team, with Superboy, to Metropolis.
