Episode/Chapter 12 - Divided and Fallen Part 2

"Can we call for back-up?" Kid Flash whispered, "get Batgirl down here?"

"The rest are caught up in the storm, Babs is with her dad tonight, and Miss Martian is most likely unconscious." Nightwing answered.

"She's only half alive...and she's running out of time. You two, on the other hand, I can kill you slowly if that's what you want." Red X said as he got out a bow staff that had electrical pulses on both ends of his staff.

"I knew this would come in handy..." Nightwing said as he took out his new carbon fiber eskrima sticks.

"That new upgrade I gave you? Yeah. I've been working on my own tricks too." Kid Flash said as he cracked his knuckles and got into a ready-to-run position. The two looked at each other, nodded, then turned back to Red X.

"So what brings you folks to Antarctica on this fine...blizzard afternoon?" Red X asked as they started circling each other, "heard you lost a few guppies out there."

"How did you--"

"Please. I have eyes everywhere." Red X shrugged.

"We're here to get M'gann back." Nightwing said.

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that." Red X said, "she has something I need."

"Then if you kill her, then you won't know where to find what you're looking for!"

"That's right. Which is why I have no means of killing her." Red X said, and Nightwing and Kid Flash could almost hear the smirk on his face, "but I don't have no reason to kill you two." And with that, he sent another electrical pulse through his bowstaff and lunged towards Nightwing. As soon as he and Red X ran at each other, Kid Flash took off and started running giant circles around them.

"Ha! You're just going to suffocate in here! My mask is--"

"I know, I know....a multi-purpose mask that can do anything." Nightwing cut Red X off and rolled his eyes as he slipped an oxygen mask onto his own face.

"Very clever..." Red X groaned, then the fight began.

Kid Flash kept running faster and faster along the walls, until five minutes later, he finally had enough speed to run up and around the walls in a huge circular motion and eventually got to the top, then ran into the metal bars of the cell.

"M'gann?!" Kid Flash called, and he saw her laying on the cobblestone floor. He knew she couldn't last long surrounded by all this fire. So first things first, he ran fast enough to put out the fire. Then he tried to get the cell door open, but it wouldn't budge, "okay...I only do this in the toughest of circumstances....and this'll be totally worth it..." Kid Flash breathed in and out slowly. Then he started vibrating his molecules rapidly, and then he slowly stepped through the bars and fell down on his knees next to Miss Martian.

"W-Wally?"

"Hey, it's me... We're going to get you outta here." Kid Flash said as he helped her up, "can you walk? Or shapeshift through the cell door?"

"Wally...your nose..."

"Yeah, yeah...I get a bloody nose whenever I..." But his voice trailed off when he moved his fingers up to his upper lip, but it was dry. There was no blood.

"You got...faster." Miss Martian managed a smile.

"C'mon. Nightwing can't hold Red X off for too long." Kid Flash said, "can you fight?"

"Yeah...yeah. I think I can..." Miss Martian said confidently.

"Good. Because I think we need all hands on deck for this one."
