Episode/Chapter 18 - Red Exes Part 2

"Conner. Kara and I are going out to eat. Are you coming?" Clark asked as he peeked into Conner's room at the cave. 

"I'm not up for eating right now." Conner replied as he laid on his bed staring at the ceiling. 

"Look. Tim's gone, and there's nothing we can do about it. We just have to move on from here." Clark said as he stood in front of Conner's bed. 

"You don't know this, and I'm sure Batman doesn't know this either. But Tim and I, fairly recently, we started going out on covert missions in Gotham and occasionally in Metropolis. I don't know why, but he suddenly had this huge obsession with Red X, even though he wasn't available to go on any team mission." Conner explained as he sat up, "He said something the other day... The last thing he ever said to me... He said something like... When someone dies, then they're gone. But in a villain's case, that person who died is closer than we might think. I had no idea what it meant. Then Nightwing told me that right before he had died, he said to tell Steph to never give up on him. What was that supposed to mean? I was mainly thinking about all this..." 

"I see your point there..." Clark thought, "have you brought it up to Batman?" 

"He's already got so much on his plate, including what had happened to Barbara. He's still recovering from that. Then Tim's death, that's another thing." Conner shook his head. 

"Kara and I are willing to help, just know that." Clark said, "so are you up for dinner?"

Conner turned to him, smiled, and nodded as he got up and followed Clark out the door. 

"I hope you don't mind Diana's coming along." Clark added, "you can bring M'gann if you want." 

"Nah. It's fine." Conner shook his head, "we could use more bonding time, the three of us." 

"Yeah. That's what Kara said. She doesn't think Jaime would be up for dinner after Tim died. They were pretty good friends, too." Clark nodded. 

"Yeah..." Conner said as they walked through a Zeta Tube. 

"Recognized. Superman, 01. Superboy, B04." The cave computer said as they disappeared.

"You're planning on returning all that money, right?" Spoiler called out to the robbers that she had cornered in an alley. 

"Of course not! Who do you think you are?!" one of the robbers yelled. 

"I'm Spoiler." 

Suddenly, the robbers took out their guns and started shooting. Spoiler dodged all their bullets, ran up to them, jumped from brick wall to brick wall, and landed a few KO's in the mix. She picked up the bag of money that the leader had dropped, but she gasped when one of the members wrapped his arm around her neck and held a gun to her head. 

"Now... Drop that money, or I pull the trigger..." the robber whispered. 

"Of course not." Spoiler smirked, "you're going to pull the trigger anyways." 

But when Spoiler tried to grab him, the robber expertly pulled her arm behind her back and twisted it. She screamed in pain as he was so close to breaking it.

"On the count of three. One... Two... Th--" 

A red boomerang flew forward, hit the robber's gun away from Spoiler's head, and Spoiler was able to grab the robber, twist his arm behind his back too, and knock him out. 

"Three." Spoiler smirked as she dropped him on the ground. She heard the police sirens going off, and she knew she had to get out of there before they get there. So she shot her grappling hook at the roof of a nearby building and stood at the roof. She looked around in curiosity.
