"I've practically got a match here, Dick. I'm just going to need verification." Bette Kane told Dick over the phone back at the cave.

"Good work, Oracle." Dick said, "think you could get that done ASAP?"
"Please." Bette scoffed as she glanced behind her to see M'gann walk in, "I can get it done now, actually. Which means I got to go."

"Okay. See you tomorrow." Dick said and hung up.

"That was Nightwing?" M'gann asked.

"Yeah." Bette nodded as she put her phone away and turned to her, "okay, well, Barbara and I talked about this, and she just wanted me to clarify this."

"Okay." M'gann said. Bette turned around, pulled up the cave computer, and pulled up a picture of the same red substance that Barbara had gotten from Tim, who got it from Dick, who got it from Damian, who got it from Red X.

"Does this look familiar?" Bette asked.

"Y-yeah..." M'gann answered, "it's Sinothium. A rare element from Mars."

"This is the stuff that powers Red X's suit." Bette explained, "he's looking for more Sinothium, because he's running on empty."

"And he knows I know where to get more?"

"Apparently...."

"Hey." M'gann and Bette turned to see Olivine walk in, "my aunt says training in ten...where is everyone?!"

"They're all out patrolling or meeting with their mentors." Bette answered, "and sure, we can do training. We just need to figure out what we need to do about M'gann and this Sinothium stuff."

"That won't be likely..."

The three girls turned to see Red X himself standing at the entrance to the mission briefing room.

"How did he get in here without the alarms going off?!" Bette said.

"I'm just awesome that way." Red X shrugged. Then he pressed a button on his mask. It started emitting waves, and when the waves reached M'gann, she screamed in pain and fell to the ground.

"M'gann!!!" Bette shouted and knelt down next to her.

"Now, you two get out of here. My business is with the Martian."

"We can't let you take M'gann!"

"No. I don't want to make this harder than it already is."

"Well, you showing up here leaves us no choice." Olivine said as she took a fighting stance.

"Ha! Don't make threats you can't enforce! A 15 year-old girl and a girl who has more brains than brawn."

"Wanna bet?" Bette stood up and took her own fighting stance, only making Red X laugh harder.

"Definitely." And with that, he ran up to them and started fighting. Bette did a backflip out of the way and kicked him back. Olivine then kicked Red X to the side when he was caught off guard.

"Just because I work with the tech doesn't mean I don't train either." Bette cracked her knuckles.

"Well just because I train doesn't mean I don't work with tech either." Red X chuckled, and when Olivine looked down, he had stuck a disk on her arm, and with the press of a button, she was being electrocuted. She screamed, then fell on the ground next to M'gann.

"Olivine!!" Bette shouted.

"You see? That's your problem." Red X said, "your feelings towards others is what makes you weak."

"Yeah." A boy said from out of nowhere, "but sometimes, my feelings towards others is what makes me stronger."

Suddenly, a dark figure jumped down from above and kicked Red X to the ground. Olivine groaned and looked up,

"Alex...?"

"Hey, you okay?"

"Haha, well, I sure am impressed with your skills and abilities kids. But is that really all you can do?" Red X snickered, and he threw out a smoke bomb, making smoke fill the room.

"Where'd he go?!" Bette coughed. Alex turned and used his wings to clear the smoke away. When they finally looked around, he was gone.

"Computer! Lock down cave!" Bette ordered. She looked at the ground, "M'gann is still here...he HAS to be here."

"Should we go look for him?" Olivine asked as Alex helped her up.

"I can do that. You two stay here and watch M'gann."

"No. You need back-up." Alex said,

"You need to stay and watch M'gann until she wakes up. And Olivine's not in shape."

"I'll be fine..." Olivine coughed a little. Alex looked down at her, then at M'gann.

"Fine. I'll stay here." Alex finally agreed, "but if something goes wrong, I WILL come get you."

"Deal." Bette nodded and ran off.
