"We're going to Mars?! That's SOO crash!!!" Impulse hopped up and down excitedly.

"Not for a friendly visit. We're going after Red X, and we hope we can get there before he does." Nightwing replied, "going on this mission will be me, Miss Martian, Impulse, Blue Beetle, Superboy, Supergirl, Robin, and Jet."

"Nice!" Blue Beetle said and fist-bumped Impulse.

"I can't believe we're going to Mars! I've never been to Mars!" Supergirl said.

"Well, I hear it's really crash!" Impulse smiled and nodded.

"Oracle, can you stay and coordinate from the cave?"

"I think I can do that." Oracle smiled as she rolled in on her wheelchair, "just be careful out there, guys."

"Always." Nightwing answered, "let's go." As the rest of the team boarded the Bioship, Nightwing turned back to Oracle, "You're sure you'll be alright here?"

"Dick, you're going to space. I'm more worried about you." Oracle said, "don't worry about me. I'll be fine."

"Okay." Nightwing smiled, gave her a kiss, then followed the rest of the team to the Bioship.

"Why doesn't Red Rob go on missions anymore?" Impulse asked.

"He's been busy with his own personal missions." Nightwing explained.

"So what do we do when we get there?" Blue Beetle asked.

"Miss Martian knows her way around, so we follow her lead." Nightwing answered.

"Why's Red X here anyways?" Jet asked.

"When Red X captured me, he told me that I have something that he needs." Miss Martian explained, "I noticed a tube on his glove filled with some red liquid, and I recognized that what he's after is Sinothium."

"Sinothium?! I've heard of that before..." Superboy said.

"Yeah. It's a chemical created by combining other toxic chemicals. This is a chemical element that can only be found on Mars, actually." Miss Martian explained, "in the wrong hands, this could be very deadly."

"So in this case, the wrong hands belong to this Red X, am I correct?" Robin asked.

"Yes." Miss Martian nodded.

"But why would the Martians have it in the first place? Why create it?" Jet asked.

"The Martians on Mars were...segregated... they were split between the green and the white Martians. Of the three Martian races, the white Martians were looked down on and were seen as fighting savages, while the green Martians were seen as...peaceful philosophers." Miss Martian explained.

"Fighting savages?! Look, M'gann, we all know you're strong, but you're definitely not a savage!" Impulse said, but Superboy looked away silently.

"Yeah...but that was just me. I mean, not all white Martians were savage, and not all green Martians were peaceful." Miss Martian continued and shrugged.

"Wait, you said 'of the three Martian races'....I thought there were only two." Blue Beetle said, "green and white, right?"

"Well, there was a third race. It wasn't really as conflicting as the green and white races, but they'd be considered...neutral, I guess." Miss Martian answered, "they were the yellow Martians."

"Whoa, never heard of them before..." Impulse said.

"Yeah. But I've been doing some research lately, and I guess it turns out that the white and the green Martians were never really the same...I mean, we were technically the same race, but we didn't originally co-inhabit Mars together. Our race was known as 'The Burning', and ever since we found our ways to Mars, the Guardians of the Universe felt that they didn't want us to be so savage and ruthless. So they split up our race into two. Everything changed. Now we're segregated by color. Racial segregation. And to keep us from reaching 'our full potential', or stronger than anyone else, the Guardians gave us our main weakness: Fire. Our powers were also altered so that one race can't overtake the other. And now, I am of the few white Martians still able to get to Mars and not be captured."

"What do you mean by...captured?" Nightwing asked.

"Oh...that's another...story for another time." Miss Martian looked away, and there was a  moment of silence for a few seconds.

"Hey! Is that it?" Impulse asked, pointing outside.

"Yep. Looks like it, Ese..." Blue Beetle nodded.

"I can't wait to introduce you guys to my other friends! At least I hope they're still here." Miss Martian said.

"It's okay, M'gann. I'm sure they're fine." Superboy reassured her as he put his hand on  her shoulder.

"You don't understand though, Conner. You don't know what we've been through...what other white Martians have been through."

"Then maybe you can tell me." Superboy shrugged, "I can take it...and I can help you get through it."

"I love you to pieces, Conner. But I'm not sure I'm ready to do that yet..." Miss Martian smiled at him, then turned forward, "okay...let's do this... Let's go get Red X."
