Episode/Chapter 14 - Rose Gold Part 3

"So what's up with this girl?!" Kid Flash whispered to Nightwing as they tried to make their way out of her room.

"There's definitely something wrong here... she was normal just about five minutes ago..." Nightwing thought, "but....at midnight, she turned into Thorn..."

"That clinches it! By day, she's Rose, and by night, she's Thorn!" Kid Flash concluded, "that's why she ended up in Bludhaven the next morning. She went there and she eventually woke up as Rose. Innocent and confused."

"That's why those guys were so scared of her. When they were ready to shoot her, that's because they saw her as Thorn." Nightwing said. Suddenly a long vine covered in thorns shot out the window and hit Kid Flash and Nightwing back. They both groaned and sat up as Thorn stepped out.

"Thorn! We can help you!" Nightwing called.

"No one can help me now." Thorn said as she rose her hand, and another thorny vine sprouted from the ground.

"Do you take off after Poison Ivy?" Kid Flash asked.

"When Rose first started, she admired Poison Ivy's powers, but wanted to use them for good. But I intervened, and now Thorn controls her life when the moon is at its full peak." Thorn explained as she walked closer.

"Thorn! Rose! Please, you don't want to do this! You have to control yourself!" Nightwing pleaded.

"There's nothing you can do." Thorn said, and she shot the vine at the two. Kid Flash ran out of the way and Nightwing expertly jumped out of the way in a back hand-sprang, "there's nothing anyone can do."

"Well can we just try?" Kid Flash asked, "it's not that hard." Kid Flash then ran past a vine, took it, and wrapped it around Thorn and tying the vine in less than three seconds.

"You don't understand. With my powers, I'm practically untouchable." Thorn said, and she was able to tear the vines with her thorns and she tore free.

"Crap." Kid Flash muttered, and he ran out of the way when she tried to sprout a giant vine out from underneath him. She directed the vine to follow him, and it went just as fast as he did. Kid Flash gasped when the vine caught him and wrapped tightly around him.

"Kid!" Nightwing yelled and ran up to him, but a vine grabbed onto him too. Thorn held them both in the air,

"Oh, the poor heroes have fallen. Too bad..." Thorn smirked, and with the flick of her wrist, another vine with an extremely long and sharp thorn at the end of it sprouted from the ground. She directed it towards Kid Flash, and she held it up to his chest, ready to kill him.

"Don't you DARE kill him." Nightwing breathed through his clenched teeth.

"Or what?" Thorn rolled her eyes.

"I'll get him out myself." Nightwing said. Suddenly, he had a sharp razor in his hand, and he tore the vine holding him tight. Before Thorn could react, he took a bomb, threw it at the large thorn, blew it up, then threw a sharp birdarang at the vine holding Kid Flash, releasing him. Kid Flash nodded to Nightwing, ran up to Thorn and grabbed her by the neck.

"Thorn, we don't want to hurt you. Just please, try to repress your evil side and be Rose. We know you can." Kid Flash said.

"It's over. Rose is nothing compared to Thorn." Thorn sneered, then she held a thorn up to his neck, "and there's nothing you can do or say to make me say otherwise."

"Thorn.... if you..." Nightwing warned.

"And I've had enough of your empty threats." Thorn glared at Nightwing, just before taking the thorn, and instead of slitting his throat, she stabbed it into Kid Flash's side, making him cry out in pain.
