Episode/Chapter 2 - New Kids

Today's the day. We're finally going to meet the five new members of our team! This is so exciting! Miss Martian thought to herself as she and the entire team stood in front of the Mount Justice entrance waiting for the newbies. M'gann looked happily around at everyone who was accounted for: Superboy, Nightwing, Kid Flash, Artemis, Aqualad, Batgirl, Red Robin, Impulse, Blue Beetle, Supergirl, Beast Boy, Wonder Girl, and Oracle. Supergirl was the new girl last year, and has been fighting with the team for a year already, and Oracle just joined a week ago. In the distance, they could already see the Justice League arriving.

"They'll be here soon." Superman said once they've reached the team.

"Is that them?" Wonder Girl asked and pointed to an approaching car.

"That is." Aqualad said. The car drove up and the doors opened quickly, and three girls burst out, one of them being Batgirl, Stephanie Brown.

"This is so amazing!" One blonde girl beamed as they walked up to the team excitedly.

"Wow, this is cool!" Another red haired girl shrieked.

"Welcome to Mount Justice." Nightwing smiled.

"But there's only three." Superboy said, "where are the other--"

"Right here!" A girl with brown hair suddenly appeared next to the other girls. She had ran up to them...at her lightning speed.

"Whoa...." Impulse dazed. Then they heard the sounds of wings flapping, and a boy and a girl WITH WINGS flew down to the group. They both landed in sync and stood and looked around in awe.

"This place is amazing." The girl with blonde wavy hair said as she ruffled her brown and white eagle wings.

"Yeah...very open." The boy with brown hair and black wings nodded.

"So, introductions." Batman said, "the blonde is Night Owl, the brunette in red and yellow is Alacrity, the red-head in red is Speedy, and the two birds are Jet and Soaren. You all know Batgirl already." Batman said as they all waved, nodded, and smiled at the team.

"We'll have introductions and a tour of the cave. Then we'll have our first mission briefing." Batman said.

"This is so exciting! I feel like this is a dream! Is this a dream? Don't wake me!" Soaren shrieked as she tucked in her wings against her back and followed the team into the cave.

"Nice to meet you, Soaren! I'm Wonder Girl!" Wonder Girl introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you!" Soaren smiled and turned to Jet. He nodded and looked away.

"So, uh, is he your boyfriend?" Wonder Girl asked.

"What? No...he's my brother. My twin. We're both 14." Soaren answered.

"You guys are so...so fly! I want wings! Of course I CAN fly, but you guys seem so much cooler!" Wonder Girl beamed.

"We conducted our own experiment and ended up the way we are today." Soaren smiled.

"Wow..." Wonder Girl gaped in awe as Soaren showed her her wings.

"Hey, Speedy! I really like your bow! What is it?" Artemis asked as she ran up to Speedy.

"It's a compound bow. I mean, I do love recurve bows, but I can barely draw it back. Plus, I find the compound bow to have a stronger drawback and release." Speedy said as she held out her bow to Artemis.

"Nice. I construct my own arrows. You?"

"Carbon fiber rods! SO much sturdier." Speedy said as they compared arrows and followed the group inside.

"Pfft....archer talk gives me a headache." Kid Flash said, "but hey, I learned to put up with it all day, kid."

"Oh, yeah..." Impulse said as he looked around.

"Who are you looking for?" Kid Flash asked.

"No one." Impulse said. Then he looked up at Kid to see him smirking.

"You know she's my protégé, right?" Kid asked.

"What?! She is?! Man, how much bigger can the Flash Fam get? This is so crash!" Impulse beamed. Suddenly Alacrity ran up next to them.

"I know right? Crash! I've always loved it when you say that!" Alacrity giggled.

"Ha...thanks." Impulse blushed, as Kid Flash just looked at him and rolled his eyes.

"Race ya." KF smirked and ran into the cave with his super speed.

"Oh no you don't!" Alacrity yelled and followed.

"Hey! Wait up!" Impulse called and ran after the two.

"Man...I'll never get used to this..." Night Owl muttered as she looked around the cave.

"It's okay. I managed, and I'm sure you will too!" Batgirl smiled as she put her hand on her shoulder, "I'm Batgirl, by the way."

"But isn't that the other new girl also?" Night Owl asked.

"Yeah, well, I'm the first Batgirl. She's the second." Batgirl (Barbara) answered.

"Wow, there's a lot. What, is there a third?!" Night Owl asked sarcastically.

"Um..." Batgirl chuckled.

"Seriously?! Is she on the team too?!" Night Owl asked in disbelief.

"Well, no. She doesn't really go by Batgirl, but--"

"And here's the mission briefing room." Batman interrupted, "to the left is the kitchen and the rooms for those who actually live here, and to the right is the training room."

"Man, this is so cool!" Soaren smiled.

"Now we just need to get the kids registered into the Zeta Tube program." Batman told Superman.

"I'll get to Strange on that." Superman said. He gestured for the six new members to follow him. They followed him into a lab-looking room, which was newly added on during the past year.

"This is Adam Strange. He's in charge of our Zeta technology and also our programming here at the cave. He will program you six so that you can enter and exit the cave without tripping any alarms." Superman explained as he introduced Dr. Strange.

"After this, send them back to the mission room for an assignment." Superman told Dr. Strange, "Batman's already got them some work." Superman said as he flew out.

"Alright kids. The sooner we can get this started, the sooner we can get this done." Dr. Strange said, and their new superhero adventure began.
