"Who are you, Ravager, and where did you come from?!" Kid Flash demanded.
"Why would you care?" Ravager scoffed as she took her two swords.
"Because we can help you." Artemis said.
"No one can help me. Being Deathstroke's daughter." Ravager said.
"Wait, Deathstroke's daughter? DEATHSTROKE?!" Kid Flash gasped.
"You. YOU killed my dad." Ravager pointed at Artemis.
"Artemis didn't kill anyone." Kid Flash defended her.
"Wally..." Artemis whispered.
"What?"
Artemis looked at him, bit her lip, and shook her head.
"You..." Kid Flash muttered.
"Oops, spoilers?" Ravager smirked, "too bad. You killed him, someone's got blood to pay."
"That's you, right?" Artemis said as she reached for her bow.
"What do you have against the team? Do you have anything against the team at all?: Kid Flash asked.
"No. I don't have anything against your team. Maybe just against your girlfriend here." Ravager gestured to Artemis.
"Look, I'm sorry. But I did what had to be done." Artemis yelled, "look, we don't want to fight you. But we could help you. We're sorry. I'm sorry. But we'll help you. You can join the team."
"What?!" Kid Flash looked at her.
"What makes you think I'd accept your offer?" Ravager smirked.
"I'll make up for it. For your dad."
"Nothing can replace my dad!!" Ravager yelled, "you're just a wimp. You're stalling. I'll fight you!"
"No, Ravager! We can get you help!" Kid Flash said.
"No one can help me!" Ravager yelled as she pulled out a mask from behind her and slipped it onto her face. It was black on the side of her face lacking an eye, and was orange on the other half.
"Fine. We'll fight. But if we win, then you have to cooperate with us." Artemis proposed.
"And if I win?" Ravager asked.
"Then.... You can kill me." Artemis said.
"ARTY!!!" Kid Flash shouted, "you can't do that!"
"I can, because we can win." Artemis turned to Kid Flash, "I trust you."
"...But..."
"Deal." Ravager said as she pulled out a sword, then ran up to Artemis. She slashed at her, but Artemis used her bow to block the blade.
"Kid! Distract her!" Artemis said as she jumped back in a back-hand sprang. Kid Flash ran forward and started rotating his arms in a circular motion, creating two mini tornadoes with his arms. He threw the tornadoes at Ravager and she flew back and hit the wall.
Artemis ran forward and grabbed Ravager's swords, which had fallen onto the concrete. Kid Flash ran up to Ravager and held her arms behind her back.
"Let go of me!!" Ravager screeched angrily.
"Nope. We win." Kid Flash smirked. But being unprepared, she kicked Kid Flash back against the wall, reached for her hidden holsters on her thigh, aimed at Artemis, and pulled the trigger.
"Artemis!" Kid Flash cried as he grabbed Ravager's gun, threw it at the wall, then grabbed Ravager's wrists again, "what have you done?!"
Artemis had hit the wall behind her as she clutched her arm.
"You're.... Aiming is off..." Artemis panted as she eyed Ravager. She inhaled sharply through her clenched teeth and turned to look at her arm , which was now covered in blood.
"You will seriously pay for that." Kid Flash said, his voice low. He took Ravager, ran all the way to the cave, dropped her off in a cage, Beast Boy and Impulse just stared as Ravager sat silently in the cage, and Kid Flash ran all the back to the alley where Artemis was waiting.
"Are you okay?" Kid Flash asked as he walked up to her and held her arm.
"It's fine... It's still lodged in my arm, though..." Artemis said, but cringed when Kid Flash pressed his finger tips around the bullet wound, "look, I'm sorry about Deathstr--"
"Let's not talk about that here or now." Kid Flash said, "your life is more important right now."
Artemis bit her lip to keep from crying, and nodded.
"So, do you trust me?" Kid Flash watched her carefully, and she nodded, "Okay. Then this shouldn't hurt one bit." Kid Flash inhaled, then exhaled slowly as he held his hand right above Artemis' bullet wound. To Artemis' amazement, he started vibrating his hand. He lowered it down into her wound, and she exhaled sharply. Kid Flash cringed as he held his still-vibrating hand in her arm, then pulled it out slowly, holding the bloody bullet in the palm of his hand. Artemis looked at the bullet, then at her arm, breathing heavily.
"You did it..." Artemis gasped.
"I did it!" Kid Flash laughed as he smiled at her, making her smile too. She reached up and hugged him.
"I'm so--"
"Shh... I don't care..." Kid Flash silenced her as he hugged her tighter, "Deathstroke has put you through a lot. You were just doing what had to be done."
Artemis smiled and nodded, until they suddenly got a call,
"Hey, where are you guys?"
"Nightwing?" Kid Flash responded to the call, "we're at the new house here in New York. Why, is something up?"
"Team and League meeting. Now. This is important."
