The next day I practically clung on to Danny. Even when he went to dinner with his family, I stayed with him. My excuse was "it was my last day with my best friend".

The whole time I was looking down at the ring Danny had given me on Graduation Day. It wasn't an engagement ring, it was a promise ring. It made sure that we would stay loyal to each other even when he was overseas. I could never cheat on Danny. Not even if he was gone and I was lonely.

His mother and father didn't look at each other the whole time which I found sad. They should have at least felt upset or worried because it was their last day before their son left. But no. They didn't love each other. They couldn't.

I thought about the future. Being married to Danny and having kids and then splitting because we couldn't stand to look at each other anymore. I didn't want that to happen. Danny was the love of my life and I could barely survive a day without him. I never wanted to be without him.

We left the restaurant and I watched as Danny hugged his parents and Xavier.

"If you ever need to talk, go to Max. He'll take care of you." My boyfriend said ruffled his younger brother's hair. "I'll be back as soon as I can."

There was a sinking feeling in my chest as we got into the car. I gazed out the window as Danny drove us back to the apartment and remained silent.

My boyfriend took my hand in his to get my attention. "You look upset."

"Because I am." I replied with a sigh.

"Don't be sad, Maxy. I'm coming back."

"I'm going to lose my boyfriend for probably like three years. I have a reason to be sad."

"I'll be back for Christmas and Thanksgiving hopefully. Besides, I'll write letters to you every week. It'll be like I'm on an extended vacation."

"I've always had you, Danny. But after tomorrow, I won't have anyone. My dad is in jail, my mother still hates me, you'll be god knows where, and no one else knows me other than my landlord."

"Well, once school starts up, I bet you'll have a bunch of Harvard friends."

"Everyone at Harvard is a snobby know-it-all. I don't think I'll fit in."

"With your brilliant mind, I think you'll find a way."

We parked and took the elevator up to our apartment. Danny kissed my cheek and smiled at me.

"It'll be okay." He told me.

I nodded and tried to believe him for once. Once we got into the apartment, our lips collided. I knew I wanted to before I had to lose him.

The next chapter will be private since there's going to be sexual content so you'll have to follow me to read it. If you don't like boy on boy action then don't read it please. Comment and vote please.
