The first three months were the hardest. I didn't eat or sleep for days on end and I hardly left my apartment. In class I was zoning out and my professors had to talk to me after class because I wasn't paying attention.

Danny wrote every week at first. But then we both got busy and the letters started every two weeks. Then three weeks. Then every month. Since then I've been getting monthly letters from my boyfriend which made me miss him even more.

Danny was stationed in Afghanistan. He told me that most of the time nothing is really going on and that I shouldn't worry. But I knew he was lying. He just wanted me to feel relieved so that I didn't have to worry about him coming home in a casket.

But ever since he left, I had gotten a lot closer with his family. Xavier had seemed miserable ever since his mother moved into a different house and he would have to go back and forth every weekend. But he seemed to cheer up whenever I stopped by to visit. And Derek, Danny's father, always seemed to be happy to see Xavier smiling.

When I found out why my boyfriend's parents were divorced, I was shocked to say the least. It turns out that Derek is gay and was caught cheating with a guy. But that wasn't the only reason. Their mother was doing drugs and Danny and Xavier walked into a house smelling like a mix of weed and many other things on more than one occasion. So they had a huge argument one night and decided that it was better to get a divorce.

September and October flew by. I was too buried in schoolwork and thesis papers to even think on my own. But it was that one day in November that I snapped out of my work filled daze.

I heard a knock on the door and put my second essay for that night aside.

"Finally. Pizza is here." I muttered to myself and got up to answer the door.

When the door opened, Danny stood there in his camo uniform with my pizza in his hands.

"Boo, bitch." He said with a smirk.

"DANNY!!!" I nearly screamed and jumped into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist and never wanting to let go again.

"Okay, I'm going to drop this thing if you don't let go of me."

I slid down his body then grabbed his head to kiss him. "What the hell are you doing here?!"

"I'm home for Thanksgiving surprisingly enough." He said and pushed passed me. "I'm glad you ordered a pizza. I haven't eaten in 18 hours because of my god damn flight."

I shut the door behind us and watched as he ripped open the box and grabbed a slice, shoving it in his mouth. He must have missed a lot of foods from back home.

"Mmm, I forgot what pizza tastes like. God, this is so good." He practically moaned while eating it.

"So what? No 'hey my wonderful boyfriend, how have you been the past five months while I've been in freaking Afghanistan'?"

"Let me just finish this slice." He stopped me and took another huge bite.

"You're a slob."

"Doesn't matter when it comes to pizza."

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms, waiting for him .

Once Danny finished his slice and wiped his fingers off on his uniform, opening his arms for me. "Hi, baby."

I practically jumped into his arms, kissing him passionately. I smiled when I noticed he still had pizza sauce on his fame and wiped it off. After, he took his hat off and put it on me.

"Holy shit, your hair is so short." I smiled and ran my hand over his crew cut.

"And yours is still a mess."

"So you're going back after the holidays?"

"Yeah. I have to." He put me down and kissed me again. "How's Harvard, my little brainiac?"

"Stressful. I was in the middle of a thesis paper and I still have another one to do tonight. It's ten times worse than high school and everyone thinks they're the smartest person in the world."

"You are not writing any papers tonight because you're spending time with your hot soldier boyfriend instead."

"Danny, I can't."

"But you can." He pulled me in by the waist and kissed my lips once again.

"I hate you."

"You love me."

"Have you gone home yet to see Xavier and Derek?"

"No. I wanted to see you first because you're the most important man in my life."

"So I'm guessing that means you're staying the night and doing more than just sleeping and you'll go and see your family tomorrow?"

"Damn, you are smart." He smirked and kissed me.

"Well, I guess we'll just have to let the pizza get cold." I smiled. "Get your ass in the bedroom, soldier boy."

I know, bae is home so quickly. But remember he serves five tours in the army and that's a really long time. So there will be a lot more chapters with out him :( comment and vote please
