After tying my tie, I let out a large sigh as I looked in the mirror. God, I looked like I was dead inside with the bags under my eyes. Thanks, Harvard, for me stay up till two in the morning to finish four thesis papers.

I reached for the shelf and grabbed my hidden stash of make-up. Oh, you think it's weird that I'm a guy and I wear make-up sometimes? Leave. Guys can wear make-up and look just as fabulous as the girls do.  After making myself look presentable, I walked into the kitchen. Seconds later there was a knock on the door.

"Hey." Levi smiled when I opened it and leaned against the frame.

"Hi." I replied shyly.

"Ready to go?"

"Yeah." I said and grabbed my jacket.

We got into his car and drove through the busy city. I was a bit nervous but somehow I was already comfortable with being with Levi.

"I hope you like Italian. My cousin's girlfriend owns this restaurant so they can make anything you want really." He explained.

"Oh, that's nice."

"Don't be nervous, Max. I don't bite."

"I know. I just tend to get nervous over nothing. Crippling anxiety is always a bitch."

"I'm here for you if you ever need anything."

I smiled at him. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

.      .      .

For the next three months, Levi and I went on a lot of dates. We got along great and I was able to open up to him a bit too. I hadn't given him the whole my-father-kind-of-raped-me talk yet but we were getting there.

He had been a great stress reliever too when I had a lot of homework or papers to do. He could console me within two seconds and I would be fine. I really did like him. He was the perfect guy for me.

"Hey, baby." Levi wrapped his arms around me and kissed me when I answered the door.

"Hey, what are you doing here?"

"I was wondering if you had any sugar."

"Yeah, it's in the cabinet. Take as much as you need."

He closed the door behind him. "I don't actually need sugar."

"Okay, then why did you come over?"

"Can't I come see my wonderful boyfriend?"

I froze at that word. "Boyfriend?"

"Yeah, you are my boyfriend, right?" He pulled me in for another kiss. "If not, we might have to fix that."

Boyfriend. The last time I was someone's boyfriend was when I was with Danny. Danny... I hadn't heard from him in months. There was no letter saying he died so he must have still been alive. God, I missed him. I hoped he was okay.

Levi sat on the couch and crossed his legs. "We should have a movie night."

"Movie night?" I asked and sat down next to him.

"Yeah, popcorn, hot chocolate, chick flicks, pillow fights, and maybe something else that involves the bed." He said between giving me kisses.

I smiled. "I'll go make the popcorn. Find us a crappy movie to watch."

I walked into the kitchen and suddenly got a headache. My vision became blurry and I winced at the slight pain but then the real horror happened.

"If you fucking tell anyone I will gut you. Understand?" My father grabbed me by the shirt collar, pinning me up against the wall.
